Chapter 2Morano’s was a tiny restaurant on the outskirts of town, more on the road to Annapolis than being in Baltimore proper. From the street, it looked like someone’s house, a rustic Victorian complete with a white, wraparound front porch and gables along the eaves. Mark would have driven right by if it weren’t for the wooden sign hanging on the mailbox post. As it was, he had to do a U-turn to come back and pull into the small lot that took over where the backyard should be. The smells started as he rounded the corner.
