Floyd ambled into Lucielle's apartment just after eight that evening, his back throbbing from hours of sitting in an unremarkable car tailing Hankins. He had gotten lucky that night—Sean had been more than willing to trail the man, which left Floyd with a free evening to spend with Lucielle. He had been missing his lass, but his body tensed as soon as he saw her in the kitchen, preparing a meal for them.
