Back on the road again. Weeks of traveling on the path, then going to camp, practicing, training, and then, back to the road again. It was the same pattern, over and over again. We crossed through towns twice since that first one. It was always the same. I would go to the inn Jem went to, where he promptly left me behind and always ended up sitting at someone important’s table, going off with them, surrounded by half-naked women. It was frustrating, and what made it worse was I had no idea what was wrong with me. The more the days passed, the tighter my chest felt. I felt all alone, with no one to talk to.
