Soon I arrived at the park. I unbuckled myself and then moved to the twins. I assisted them out of the car. I walked to the small baby park with them, the twins ran to go play in a sandbox.
"Not too far guys! Stay where I can see you!" I shouted.
I was overly nervous and overprotective. It a little bit of time Ezekiel would show up and I could feel the lump forming in the pit of my stomach. My thoughts soon diminished when I heard a small voice shout.
"Juliet! Don't eat the sand!"
I quickly turned and saw a small Pettit woman. She had long black hair. It reached her lower back and was completely straight. She had big rainforest green eyes. A big black line under her eye making the color pop against her white skin. She had a small waist and long legs. She wore a pair of jean shorts and a black tank top with a purple flannel shirt unbuttoned. Along with a pair of pure black converse that matched her outfit. She stared at a small girl in the sandbox.
The girl was in a dress. The top was a light peach color while the bottom half fell into waves. It was blue and white with horizontal stripes. A small bow rested on the child's shoulder it was attached to the dress. The small child had soft chestnut hair that fell into soft curls held back by a blue and white headband. The girl had her hands dug into the sand along with her peach ballet flats. Her hazel eyes caught my attention the most. They weren't bold like Tyler and Ashton's but a softer shade.
I noticed Ashton in the grass, glancing at the young girl. She would catch him glancing and would wave at him once in a while. Ashton's cheeks turned a bright red. I knew it was young love and I couldn't help but feel slightly in awe.
My eyes roamed around until they land on Tyler. He was in a sandbox playing with a small boy. The boy had the exact same eye color as the small girl in the other sandbox. He wore a blue shirt with fitted jeans and a pair of black Nikes. Tyler and the boy were making a castle with sand. Well at least attempting. The most they managed to do was make a hill.
That was until I heard a sharp cry. I turned my attention to the small girl again. From the corner of my eyes, I notice Tyler and the boy stop playing. I quickly stood up from the bench to go check on the girl. The woman on the bench next to mine rose up as well. Although we were beaten by Ashton who ran to the small girl's aid. He quickly helps her stand and hugged her. She cried and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. After a few seconds, she stopped crying but continued the hug.
A few minutes later they pulled apart and Ashton examined the girl's knee. He held her hand and they walk towards me. Ashton kept speaking incoherent words into her ear. She would smile and kiss his cheek. I smiled in awe. I sat on the bench once again while Ashton brought the small girl to me. From the corner of my eyes, I could see her mother tense up as they came closer to me. I smiled sweetly at her but she seemed unfazed. I couldn't blame her. If someone was close to my boys I would have the same reaction.
When they finally reached me Ashton kept speaking incoherent words. Then he said something that shocked me and the girl's mother.
"G-Girlfriend" he stuttered.
I gasped and the small girl hid behind Ashton in fear. I quickly smiled at her and placed my hand out in front of me. She looked at me and then at Ashton. He smiled at her and nodded his head. I smiled as the small girl took my hand. Did she trust him? Talk about young love. I quickly picked her up an walk towards the woman. She was still shocked.
"I believe this is your baby girl" I smiled at her.
"I-I... Thank you.." She smiled sweetly.
She took the child from my hands and the girl quickly pulled away and stretched her small arms towards Ashton. He quickly ran and held his hands up for her. I picked him up and he stretched his arms towards her.
"Girlfriend! Girlfriend!" He repeated.
Tyler and the small boy came running towards us. Tyler was quick to grab my leg and the small boy grabbed the woman's leg. I then decided to introduce myself.
"My name is Angel. This is Ashton and that little man right there is Tyler"
"I'm Haven, this is Juliet and that's Aiden" she smiled at me.
"It's nice to meet you"
"It's nice to meet you too"
"Girlfriend! Girlfriend!" Ashton kept repeating.
He tried to break free from my grip and hold the small girl named Juliet. I softly giggled and looked at him.
"Ashton, she's with her mommy."
"No! Mine!" he cried out.
Juliet blushed and extended her body toward him. Haven quickly spoke.
"Juliet, don't you wanna be with mommy?" She questioned in a sweet voice.
Juliet stopped and looked at her. I could tell she was close to her mother. Closer than Aiden was because he was already shaking hands with Tyler. They had run back to go play together. Juliet hugged her mother for a few seconds before she pulled away and extended her arms towards Ashton. He smiled and held out his hands for her.
"girlfriend! girlfriend!" he happily claimed.
I sighed and set him down. He quickly stood in front of Haven and extended his arms. She softly smiled and set Juliet down. Juliet smiled and wrapped her arms around Ashton. He held her and Juliet then placed a small kiss on his lips. That had him blushing for a while. Ashton grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the sandbox where they sat and played together.
I turned to Haven and smiled.
" I'm pretty sure that we had a few more years to go until we had to deal with that."
Haven laughed and agreed. I then heard my name being called behind me. The voice was husky and cause pleasurable tingles to run down my back. Haven and I turned to come face to face with Ezekiel... I couldn't speak, I was in shock to see he had actually shown up.
"You actually showed up." he smiled
I stayed silent. I couldn't form words. Nothing came to my mind. Ezekiel walked closer to us. Haven placed a soft hand on my arm and I glanced at her. Her face was questioning whether I knew him or not. I just turned to Ezekiel. He walked closer and my body stiffened.
"please. I just want to explain. Please don't be afraid of me" he softly whispered.
Not be afraid of him? After everything he did to me, he doesn't want me to be afraid of him. I had many emotions running through my mind and one of the most dominant ones was anger. I was angry at him for what he did but I was angry at myself for actually showing up. Although I was angry fear ate at me. One look at him and that night flooded my head.
"Angel...?"
He was now at arms distance. I didn't know what took over me at that moment but I could see my hand reach over and smack him in the face. I now had tears in my eyes while Ezekiel stared at me unfazed by my actions. The mark of a hand was now forming on his cheek. I reached over again and he braced himself. He showed no signs of defense as I was about to strike him again. My hand almost came into contact with his other cheek until I felt someone pull me away. Haven wrapped her arms around me and I instinctively wrapped them around her. I dug my face into her shoulder and cried.
I stopped crying when I heard Tyler and Ashton behind me.
"Momma?" Tyler spoke.
I looked up and saw that Ezekiel was looking at my twins with loving eyes. I knew he longed to hold them.
"Mommy's fine Tyler. Go back and play." I whispered as I wiped my tears with my hand.
He hugged my leg and looked up at Ezekiel. He glared at him for a second before he walked up to him.
"Bad. No. Momma sad, you bad" he spoke
Ashton walked up to his brother and stood in a defensive pose. Ezekiel looked hurt and bent down to their eye level.
"I'm sorry" he softly whispered as tears welled up in his eyes.
"Tyler, Ashton. Go and play mommy has to talk to him." I softly whispered.
The twins both did as they were told and ran to play. Haven softly whispered in my ear.
"I'll be here if you need me, but I feel you need to speak to him alone."
I nodded and she walked to the kids to play. I was now alone with Ezekiel. He stood and towered over me. It was obvious he was taller than 6 feet.
"Angel, I know how much I hurt you but please... Can I just hold you right now...?"
