I owe her an apology

1401 Words
Olivia’s POV I watched my aunt pick her clothes from the hangers several times and not sure what she will get. “What do you think?” she questioned me as I took a deep breath, looking at the two dresses. They were of the same color, but with original designs. One was sleeveless while the other one had straps. “This one” I pointed to the one which had straps she frowned but quickly put a smile on. “Do you think I will look beautiful?” she asked me as I nodded my head. “Great! Why don’t you also get some?   Come, I saw something that you might like” she said leading the way. I followed her behind despite not waiting for anything to do with it, she galloped through the hangers I don’t even know why she bothered herself  “What do you think?” she finally pulled out a pink floral dress, it was about knee-length and had thin straps. She handed it to me so I can look at it.  “Can I have the one with the short sleeves instead?” I inquired from her, and she tilted her head, raising her eyebrows. “But you haven’t even tried it on?” She questioned me as I lowered my head, “I don’t like things that show my chest,” I said to her, and she smiled, nodding her head, picking the dress I told her I wanted to get instead. “here you go then!” She said gigging me the dress to carry with me as she went on, going to look for other clothes. “I don’t need more clothes; I am fine with what I have,” I said to her as she tried to put some jeans and t-shirts in my basket. “Olly, it’s not a bad thing to have more clothes. I find it fascinating,” She said to me as I lowered my head, holding on tight to the basket. “But I already have enough and this is just wasting money,” I said to her as she chuckled, coming closer to me as she stroked my hair. “Is that a bad thing having more?” She questioned me, but I didn’t respond. “Okay fine, let’s leave this then you can tell me when you want more?” She said to me as I nodded my head. She walked through different rolls as she picked sanitary herself. “Which ones do you lie? Pads or tampons?” She had asked me. “Pads please” I responded; she went on putting several packets in the trolley I had used. “Wow!” She exclaimed as we entered the bedroom section, I just stood there not watching her go crazy over some pillows. By the time we were finished shopping, I was so exhausted because she wasn’t sure what she wanted and kept going round in circles. By the time we were going backing home, it was already 6 PM. As she drove home, she kept on humming to a tune that I didn’t know. “So, Olly, is there anything you like?  Maybe movies? Music? Or favorite food?” she asked me as I looked out the window. I kept on thinking, what if my mother was here? What would she have done to that guy that bruised my hand? If she had seen this, I am sure she would have noticed my bruise and gave me something to use for it.  But I couldn’t ask Aunt Rita if she could help me/ “Olivia?” she called my name as I got startled, turning to her “Sorry?” I said to her as she furrowed her eyes “I was asking if you have anything you like?” She said, focusing on the road, “um, Nothing,” I replied to her looking out the window. She didn’t respond but just kept driving. We arrived home, and I helped her unpack everything before I went upstairs to rest. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>  Two weeks later, I sat in my seat watching as Mrs. Wilson asked a question in physics about thermal expansion and everyone was quiet. “Ethan? Would you like to try it?” she inquired, turning to as he kept quiet furrowing his eyes. “Anyone? What do they mean when they say thermal expansion? Examples?” she questioned, looking at the class. “Olivia?” she turned to me “Well, it’s the increase in linear dimensions of a solid or in a volume of fluid because of a rise in temperature, something like that,” I explained to her and she kept quiet before a smile appeared on her face, “That’s correct. Thank you, Olivia,” she said, turning to the entire class continuing with the lessons. I could feel the unfriendly glares from everyone in the class as I looked at Kim, who was smiling at me. I shifted my attention back to the lesson, not caring about what was happening. After class finished, I quickly made my way out of class to get my bag so I could leave before bumping into Ethan, these past few days he’s been threatening me every time he sees me. He stopped me from eating from the cafeteria or even look in his direction. I quickly grabbed my books and bags, before I could even close the locker someone pulled me by my hand pushing me against the lockers as he turned me to look at him. He put me in between his hands as he punched my locker. “What the f**k do you think you are doing? Going off answering a question when everyone was quiet? Are you trying to make me look dumb?” he questioned. His voice was bitter as he spoke to me. Everyone stopped watching us, I looked down and away from him. “Look at me when I am talking to you!” he yelled startling me as I looked at him but quickly lowered my eyes “If you ever do that again I will f**k you up do you understand?” he asked me, I nodded my head without looking at him. “Good!” he said before turning to leave I blinked back my tears. I quickly.  The locker and rushed out of the building as people acted like I was some trash. Some were covering their mouths acting like I had a foul smell. “Olivia?” I held Kim calling me from behind but I didn’t want to talk to her, she has tried over the last few weeks to be friendly but I didn’t want to talk to her. “Hey?” She caught up with me standing in my way. I wanted to walk past her but she blocked my way again. “Don’t pay attention to Ethan, He can be crazy sometimes but he’s cool. How about you we have some ice cream? It will cheer you up?” She asked me as I rolled my eyes, “What are you trying to do? Don’t be nice to me or be pitiful towards me, Just leave me alone,” I said to her, walking past her as my bag hit her. “Ouch!” She winced in pain as I turned to look at her, she was holding her arm where I had hit her/ “I am so- “I was about to say bit she smiled looking at me, “Why are you sorry? If you are then let me buy you Ice cream, Then I will act as nothing happened” She said to me as I scoffed before turning to leave. I got in the car and looked away from her as she just watched me leave; I didn’t want to be friends with her or anyone from this school. When I reached home, I quickly changed into something else before I started studying. When it was time to prepare dinner, I went downstairs to chat with aunt Rita, who always called me to chat with her about school.  And that was it for today. >>>>>>>>>>>  The next day I went back to school, and I made sure that I was the first to arrive in class as everyone started coming in. Kim walked in class and when she saw me, she smiled vividly. She wore a sleeveless crop top and a jean with a blazer on top. “Olivia, hey?  How are you?” She tried to chat with me but I wasn’t interested, she took off her blazer and put it around her chair like she always does. “Here I got you something!” She said taking out something from her bag and handing it to me. It was a book I didn’t even have the interest to read. I looked at her arm where I had hit her with my bag yesterday. I just lowered my head feeling ashamed of myself. Mrs. Mendes walked in and she shifted her attention to the board as I just thought about how best I can apologize for the bruise on her hand
