CHAPTER 8

1381 Words
Zoe's POV “Miss?” I heard a soft and calm voice calling for me, bringing me out of my gloomy thoughts of all the possible ways to kill that asshole. I looked up and saw a young, pretty girl with dirty blonde hair, smiling at me. “Miss, the boss told me to get you settled in. Please, come with me. I will gladly take you to your room," she said, smiling. I didn't respond. I just looked at her and wondered why an innocent-looking girl would ever work for an arrogant man. “Miss, I need to get you settled in," she said in a serious tone now. “What's your name," I asked. “My name is Amelia," she softly responded. “Amelia such a nice name. But, there is some kind of mix-up. I don't need a room. I need you to show me where the nearest exit is, cause I need to leave right now," I said, getting up and pulling her by the hand. “But, miss, you can't leave. The boss will kill me if he finds out I let you go," she replied. “And the house is fully guarded by armed men, so leaving here is out of the question,'' she explained further and I rolled my eyes at the obvious truth. “But, we can find a way, right?" I tried to convince her to help me. “Please, I need this job and I can't lose it," She said in a begging tone. I could see the desperation in her eyes, and I knew there was no convincing her. I sighed. “Okay, Amelia, lead the way," I faked a smile. Amelia led me upstairs and into a beautiful all-white room. The room was huge. It was bigger than my whole apartment with beautiful paintings and lights all around. “Miss, this will be your room. Please, get settled and dinner will be at 8 pm," Amelia informed me with a smile. “Thank you, Amelia. And how about Blake? Where is his room?" I asked, immediately regretting my question. “The Boss stays in the adjoining room from yours," she answered. I cringed. “What?! No way!" I screamed immediately, feeling uncomfortable and scaring her with my response. “The boss told me to put you in a room close to his. I'm just following orders, Miss.” She let out immediately, practically running out of the room, in order not to hear me complain anymore. ‘Asshole!’ I yelled. ‘Who does he think he is? k********g me and forcing me to stay here, especially in a room close to his. I need to find a way out of here. I can't live with that douchebag of a man. I just can’t," I said to myself. So I picked up my phone to call the police, but when they heard the name Shelton, they immediately told me that they could not help me. Angry, I called the one person I knew that might be of help. “Hey, Anna... I need your help. Something terrible just happened," I said. “Zoe, what happened? Did you finally go through with your plans of becoming a nun? A pregnant nun! That would be hilarious, " Anna said, laughing through the phone. “Just shut the f**k up, Anna, and listen. I’ve been kidnapped," I whispered-yelled through the phone. “Damn, Zoe! Don't mess with me, girl. I'm about to go full-on beast mode on any douchebag that dares to kidnap my best friend. Where are you? I'm calling the cops right now," she yelled into the phone. I smiled knowing my best friend had my back. “I'm at the Shelton Mansion," I whispered, just in case there was someone by my room door, but enough for Anna to hear me. “You're where now? Don't play with me. Are you freaking sure of where you are?” She asked and I could sense a bit of happiness in her voice. I rolled my eyes, trying to ignore the happiness in her voice about my whereabouts. “Yes, Anna, I’m sure. Blake kidnapped me and is forcing me to have the child here. I need your help. I need to leave here as soon as possible," I pleaded. “Babe! Are you mad? Why do you want to leave the Shelton mansion? Many women would kill to be in your place right now," she said, sounding mad. “But I'm not one of them. I hate Blake and, even worse, the idea of living here with him infuriates me. So if you aren't going to help me out here, then, it’s fine, I will handle this alone,” I said before cutting off the call. I am so mad at Anna for not trying to see things from my point of view. ''why couldn’t she be on my side for once? I sighed, feeling defeated. Laying on the bed thinking about how the hell I ended up here; all because of one silly night with that man. (*) I woke up to the sound of someone knocking at the door. Moving a bit, I still wonder how I slept off so fast. This pregnancy is doing a number on me. Walking up to the door, and looking through the peephole just to make sure it wasn't Blake, as I didn't want to see his face right now. Seeing it was Amelia, I opened the door. “Hi Amelia,” I greeted her in a sleepy tone. “Miss," she said, smiling. “Just call me Zoe," I said, returning the smile. “Ok. Zoe, the boss requested you to come down for dinner," she said in an unsure tone while looking down at the floor nervously. “Argh," I groaned in frustration. “Go back and tell your boss that I am not going to eat anything or have dinner with him.” I let out angrily. Amelia was shocked and looked confused about what to say. “Zoe, I don't think he will like that very much," she said in a low tone. “Amelia, I don't care what he likes or doesn't like. Just tell him I'm not having dinner with him now or ever," I yelled, slamming the door on her. A few minutes later, I heard a knock at the door. Still angry, I stormed over to the door, ready to turn down Amelia yet again. “Amelia, I told you to tell him, I'm not going to eat or have dinner with him," I yelled, opening the door. But to my surprise, it was Blake. Shirtless. We stood there staring at each other, with my eyes exploring every inch of his shirtless body. “Why did he freaking choose to come to my room shirtless?" I internally screamed to myself. Swallowing the huge lump in my throat and ignoring all the lustful feelings erupting within me. I managed to bring my eyes back to his. “What do you want, Blake?” I asked with my hands on my waist. “Why don't you want to have dinner?" Blake asked in a rather calm tone, looking right at me. “Blake, I'm not going to eat any food in this house until you let me go!” I answered. After saying that, he started laughing. “Oh, my dear. I can see that you still don't know who is in control here," he said, forcing himself into my room. “Blake, I don't care, okay? You better let me go, or I will starve myself and the baby to death," I said, crossing my hands and, internally, praying he believed my threat. But before I knew what was happening, Blake came over to me picking me up bridal style. Shocked. I looked up at him with my heart beating out of control in anticipation of his next move. “ Cookie, I don't think you understand. You belong to me now and you're not going anywhere with my child still inside you. So, why don't you just quit this little threat of yours and let us go and have dinner," he said, smirking as he walked out of the room with me still in his arms.
