The two women could be seen visiting the exclusive shops along Rodeo Drive. The tall aristocratic figure would be seen striding through the doors – her lean figure almost gaunt in a neatly tailored pants suit. Her large dark eyes, half-lidded and deeply shadowed, would pass over the racks of stylish clothes with languid indifference. The blond girl, her hair pulled back in a youthful pony-tail -- followed behind dutifully in her wake, like some wide-eyed younger sister being towed along on a shopping trip.
