We're here, in the middle of the forest inside the largest mountain range in the Philippines, the Sierra Madre. I am a Veterinarian that was brought to the team to cure the injured animals that we will find on our way.
Why I'm doing this? Well when I was a kid I'm always watching this TV program called 'Born to be wild' hosted by my favorite veterinarians, Doc. Nielsen and Doc. Ferdz. I idolized them ever since.
I told my parents what I wanted, though my father is a business tycoon who owns one of the biggest hotel and resort chains here in the Philippines. I told my father that I don't have any interest on our business. He said that he will allow me to do what I want if I finished a 2 year course in hospitality management, so I can still help them whenever they need help.
After I graduated I work with Doc. Ferdz in hi small clinic. Though I'm enjoying what I'm doing right now still I want to explore the wild like he did.
I handed my resignation letter to him, and told him my reason. He laughed after hearing it, while my face turned red as a tomato from the embarrassment.
He accepted my resignation and told me that if I want to leave right now and start my own adventure there's no need to complete the days of work before the effectiveness of my resignation.
He also said that he also wants to to work with me with one of his trips. That makes me more excited, thinking working with him and Doc. Nielsen is the biggest dream of my life.
Well, back to reality!
This is my first adventure, I am here together with 3 biologist, 2 vloggers who's doing educational vlogs and another veterinarian.
It's already night and it gets very dark here in the forest. We set our camping materials, I shared tent with the female Vlogger. I brought out my sleeping bag, and after we finished it we start to make dinner. Ooop, I ran out of water!
I told the that I'll be out for a while to find water and they ask me to fill theirs too.
Damn it!
I brought my water proof bag with me incase that there'll be an emergency I got things that I needed here.
I keep walking and walking into the endless dark path, but I can't find any fresh water around.
I stop walking as I reached a dead end. I was about turned and head back when I noticed a cave. I entered it and I realized something is strange. There were no bats dwelling on this cave and it's eerily quiet. It's too quiet that I feel like I'm deaf.
I put down all the water containers near at the entrance of the cave and walk deeper in the cave. After ten minutes of walking I finally found what I was looking for.
A pool of fresh water!
I squatted down and scooped the water with my hands. The water is quite cold, very clean and crystal clear.
I drink the water on my hand, it's not brackish it's really fresh water!
I was about to stand when I accidentally slipped and fell on the pool.
I tried to swim up to grasped some air but it seems that there's a force that's pulling me deeper.
I kept on struggling until I manage to swam up. I pulled myself on the side of the pool while coughing and heaving.
I carefully crawled out of the water and ran towards the entrance of the cave.
But another strange things happened.
The water containers that I put here suddenly gone.
I went out of the cave and my eyes widened it's already morning and I can see clearly the humongous trees that a leaf of it is big as a human.
I took the whistle from my bag blow it.
A deafening screeched roared in the forest. It seems it came from a very huge creature.
What the hell is happening right now?!
Suddenly a strong gust of wind struck me.
A huge maned eagle landed in front of me.
Bluish gray eyes, maned head, sharp beak and claws.
I took my 1000 bill on my wallet and to see the similarities, no doubt this is the king of the birds, the endangered species of Philippine eagle.
But why?
Why the hell this one is big as a two story house?
