Glass Walls

My eyes fluttered open as I was getting tired of sleeping inside the infirmary. The square shaped lamp on the table beside my bed that was the only source of light grabbed my attention. I grabbed onto the handle of the lamp while getting out of my bed to start exploring the infirmary room out of boredom. I started to walk around barefoot since I couldn't find the slippers the doctor gave me yesterday. I lifted up the lamp higher as its strong light shined through the glass walls of the infirmary. I gasped when I discovered a celestial being mirrored back through the translucent glass walls. An adolescence girl with wavy silver hair toppling around her waist wore a white gown meant for patients. She walked closer to me, barefoot with her delicate pale skin. Her orange speckled pupils widened at the sight of another person as if she was surprised. 'Is she even a human being?' I admired the small,  celestial ethereal being. Her long slender arms and legs complemented her small face as she started to walk gracefully towards the other side of the glass wall. Her twinkling eyes started to swell up and tears ran down onto her cheeks as she tried to plead with her clear bell-like voice that rang, "I don't have that much time, but promise me - !" I wondered what she was trying to say as I couldn't hear the rest of what she wanted to say while she desperately appeared to be in deep trouble. Her mouth moved like she was engaging in an important conversation with me like she didn't know I couldn't hear a single word. The door opened on the other side of the glass walls. A boy around the same age as the young girl wore a plaid ocean blue tie with an exquisite white shirt and navy dress pants. His clothes perfectly matched his silver hair and stormy ocean eyes that roared with anger and disappointment. The boy grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards her bed and made her sit down with a troubled frown, "You should know that you shouldn't get out of bed! What were you thinking getting up and ruining your health!" Somehow, he oddly resembled Luke with his matured features. Now thinking of it, the beautiful adolescence girl with magnificent sparkling eyes resembled my orange pupil eyes. However, I knew it couldn't be me. I possessed proud crimson coloured hair while she had the most magnificent shades of glimmering silver hair tumbling down her back. "At this rate, you'll never let me out of this room! It's been one year since I've been trapped inside here." The girl yelled in frustration as sudden tears ran down her face. "It's not fair... It's not fair. It's not like my health will get better from staying in bed all day anyways." The girl started whimpering while pouting. The boy coldly ignored her complaints and whispered a weird short chant while touching the girl's shoulders. The girl who was once awake soon fainted as she lost her consciousness while her face dropped into his hands. The boy checked her pulse to make sure the girl was not awake anymore as he sighed and left the room once he was certain she was truly asleep. However, right after the boy left the room, the girl's eyes instantly flickered open. She started to walk towards me as she whispered softly with her fierce determined eyes, "I don't have that much time, but promise me that you will meet me in the place you are right now every first night of the month at this time." I nodded my head in confusion as the glass walls became completely transparency while the room in front of me had disappeared. The glass wall reflected the familiar hallway instead of the girl that looked at me with her desperate eyes. The dark night slowly broke into a room with faint sunlight dripping through the walls as the strong light of the lamp dimmed down in comparison. Strangely, instead of finding myself standing in front of the glass walls, I found myself lying down on the floor. 'Wasn't I standing there a minute ago?' I thought as I slowly got up to catch Luke standing right in front of me. Luke stared down at me with a clear question of why 'I was lying down on the floor instead of the bed.' Facing the inevitable shameless scene, I asked, "What time is it?" "9AM." Luke replied with a wry face. Well it did make sense, Luke wouldn't be here in the middle of the night, right? "The bed was way too warm, so I ended up sleeping on the floor," I tried to explain. " I see." Luke sarcastically replied. "I think I'm better now so I'll go to the library to go and study," I tried to change the subject. "Are you sure you're already better? I don't think someone exactly in their right mind would choose to sleep on the floor no matter how warm their bed was," Luke tried to keep me in the infirmary. "Then let's go together!" I pulled Luke's hand to go to the library together.
