"Of course, what is it?," he says.
"I said some really unpleasant words to mom earlier today. Now I can't go to sleep because of regret. Can you please say sorry to her for me?," Leah says with pleading eyes.
"You are lying, Leah. You are not the one who thought of apologizing to her. I reminded you!, " Kevin interjects. His father chuckles, then turns back to Leah.
"What happened that made you say bad things to your mother? You are always in control of your emotions." He sounds genuinely surprised.
"She was talking about getting rid of me through marriage." She says bitterly.
"I understand."
Leah is also surprised.
