Chapter Three Slave Hunt The shapeless black formed into dense foliage with huge, strangely shaped leaves above and around me. I’m dizzy and lean against a thick, moss covered tree trunk while exotic birds call out and I get my bearings. How long was I unconscious? And why aren’t I waking up in a hospital bed instead of...this place? Nothing is familiar. A bird with an upwardly curved beak suddenly flies by. Something that resembles a deer, but too big for one, comes bounding through and is soon lost in the growth. Peace returns and I’m ready to wake up.
