“After I finished with Dena I stopped in to see my uncle. You might’ve heard of him. Frank Miller.” Choke. Cough. Hack. “Frank Miller?” I said. “Dr. Miller. The Dr. Miller. The Dr. Miller who controls the board of directors?” Ben merely nodded. “What’s going on here?” I said. “Miller took my staff, said he couldn’t justify the manpower spent on trying to unlock the papyrus’s mysteries. Like you can dictate a timetable to science. He should know that. He’s a scientist. Or was. And now I’ve got his nephew for a babysitter?” My frustration at not cracking the papyrus’s code spewed forth. When I finished I was pointing a finger in Ben’s face. Most people wouldn’t have gone so far, invading a practical stranger’s personal space. But I knew it was alright, knew just how far I could push this
