Welcomes and Farewells
If I thought things would let up after that I was greatly mistaken. The rest of the ten day cycle Bakaru pushed me to the limits of my endurance. He wanted to know if I was the real thing for him or just another brittle female. Bakaru had tried the straight on, full-speed ahead approach several times, and I had passed with flying colors, but now he changed tactics and employed a vicious subtlety.
He tied me spread-eagle to the bed. My arms welcomed the relief, no longer welded to each other, and my knees too, at last off the hard floor. But he left me like that for two days. At least, I assumed it was two. The sun went down, came up then went down again while he worked.
