Paris' POV
While I am in training, which is not going too well, by the way, London and I are getting to know each other better. I love my sister, as she is more like me than she wants to admit. She started cussing like I do, as we will change places. She will become Paris Saywer, and I will become London Wellington. Since our grandparents adopted her as their own, she has their surname, while I have our parent's surname. I told London she would need to be careful as she would be in danger from my pack. Some of the warriors will stay behind to help protect her if she needs it. According to my pack, I am a rogue, but since I am not part of the Royal Wolf pack of Essex, they can not do anything to me as the King will protect his own, but that does not mean they will not try. f**k them anyway. I want nothing to do with them anymore. Mark Brown is in town, and he asked to see me. I know why he wants to see me all of a sudden. He realizes I am a princess, and now I am good enough for the future Alpha of the Ravenstone Pack. Well, f**k him. I have moved on and will never accept him as my mate. I do not want to see him. He can go to hell and back for all I care and take Emelia with him. I jog every morning as I want to keep fit and do not want to become an actual princess. I am a born warrior who wants to stay in top form. I also go and work out in the gym. I'll take London with me if I can wake her up around six. She can sleep until late as she has never worked or worked out. At night we go to the woods near the city and set our wolves free. They need to come out and play.
I get up at five and drink my coffee. I love coffee and can not like damn tea. It tastes like herbs. Jeffrey is standing close to me with a cup of tea. I watch him punish himself by drinking the awful brew. No one can tell me they drink tea because they enjoy it. I will never believe them.
"You like to punish yourself by drinking that awful brew you call tea," I say.
"It is heavier than that caffeine you pump into your body," Jeffrey says.
"I am a werewolf. It does not last in my system. I like the taste and eat and drink the stuff I like. I only live once, you know," I say. Jeffrey frowns and pours out the tea. He makes himself a coffee, and I smile.
"I never thought about it that way. Coffee does taste good. Damn, humans have us believe in being healthy. You are right. We are werewolves, and silver and wolfsbane are the only two things that are hazardous to our health. I will start drinking and enjoying my coffee. King George will not think it funny that you and I are now drinking coffee since we developed a taste for it, Princess," Jeffrey says.
"I wish you would stop calling me Princess. I am no f*****g princess, and I don't know how I will get used to everyone calling me Princess," I sigh as I take another sip of my coffee.
"You are! Princess Paris, I know you are not used to being loved, but everyone in the Kingdom loves Princess London and, therefore, will love you. You must get used to people like Wallis and me caring about you. We already love you, even if you are a diamond in the rough," Jeffrey says.
"You love me? Really Jeff?" I ask. No one told me that they had loved me since Ben was born.
"Of course, we love you, and my name is Jeffrey," Jeffrey sighs. I smile and give him a little punch on his arm. I do not know how to give hugs and kisses as I am not an affectionate werewolf.
"Hahaha, secretly, you like that I call you Jeff," I say as I get ready to go out the door for my early morning jog.
"Princess, where do you think you are going? You can not go out alone! It is dangerous out there," Jeffrey says.
"Jeff, no werewolf in this town can take me down. I am a warrior," I say as I stretch to warm up. Jeffrey shakes his head as I jog out the door and blow him a kiss.
"She will never change. I don't know how we will fool the King into believing she is London," Jeffrey says.
"I heard that!" I shout and laugh.
"Well, you need to act more like a lady," Jeff shouts after me. I jog away, laughing at Jeff. I jog to the park near the apartment and hear someone calling my name.
"Paris, wait up!" I look around and see Mark jogging my way. I start running faster. I am not in the mood for him.
"Go away, Mark. We are not pack mates anymore, and I have nothing to say to you," I shout back. Not many people are around in the park at that time of the morning.
"I will hurt Ben if you do not stop and listen to me," Mark says.
"You know Ben is your brother as well as mine, right?" I say, but I stop because I do not want Ben to get hurt. Even though he is a pain in my ass, he is still my little brother. Mark smiles triumphantly. Then it hit him.
"What did you say? How is Ben my brother? He can not be your brother and mine," Mark says, confused. He is as stupid as my father.
"Well, don't you find it odd that he looks a lot like you?" I ask. It is as if a light goes up for Mark.
"You mean Ben is my father's child with your mother?" Mark asks.
"Wow, you have more than two brain cells," I say.
"Hilarious, Paris. Anyway. I want to accept you as my mate," Mark says.
"Nope, it is not going to happen. Our bond was broken when you rejected me," I say.
"Paris, I am sure it can be repaired. Give me a chance," Mark begs. He still looks a little stunned by the news of Ben and me refusing to have him as my mate.
"Mark, go away. I do not want to be your mate, and I am not even going to talk about it," I say.
"Paris, I will hurt Ben! You better give me a chance," Mark says again. I walk over to Mark and grab him by the neck. We are hidden in a woody part of the park, so no one can see us. I pick him up against a tree. I am strong, as I said before. I have not even used half my power against Wallis. I do not want anyone to know how strong I really am.
"Listen, asshole. You can not make me be your mate. If you want to hurt our brother, go ahead, but you need to remember one thing. He is your father's son, and your father will not like you hurting his son, and then the truth about your father's infidelity will come out, and it can cause your mother's death. She is not very strong, and she is sickly. So if you hurt Ben, you will kill your mother," I say. I press his neck harder. Mark starts coughing, and I let him go. He falls to the ground gasping for breath.
"Paris, please, I made a mistake," Mark starts begging.
"Do you want me to kill you?" I ask.
"No, I know you can kick my butt. We need a warrior Luna like you. You do not understand what danger our pack is in. We need you, and I beg you to come home with me as my mate," Mark says.
"How is that my problem? You never wanted me, and you treated me like s**t, so why in hell's name should I worry about your pack?" I ask. I can not give a damn if the pack is destroyed.
"Your parents and Ben are in danger. Do not tell me that you do not care about them," Mark says.
"I don't care about them," I say. I feel sorry for Ben, and he is my little brother, but I am never going back.
"There is a pack waiting for their Alpha to return from overseas. They are threatening to take over our pack," Mark says.
"Like I said, not my problem," I say. I know when a werewolf pack takes over another pack, they will only kill those that resist. My father and mother will not resist if they know it will put Ben in danger.
"Please, Paris. You are stronger than your father, our best warrior at the moment," Mark jogs behind me as I jog on and ignore him. Curiosity gets the better of me, and I have to ask.
"What did you do to this pack that is now your enemy," I ask.
"Well, we, kind of, by accident, trespassed on their land, and they are pissed as we hunted on their grounds," Mark says.
"Hahaha, you did not do it by accident. You and your father were always greedy when it came to hunting," I say as I jog on.
"Well, are you going to help us?" Mark asks as he got to hope because I asked.
"Nope. Good luck, and f**k off," I say as I jog away. He still only wants to use me, and I know the following people to come and beg me will be my parents. Or maybe they will ask London for help as they may think she has a big army. Of course, Mark was sent to distract me so they could beg for help from my sister. I mind-link her and warn her not to help them as I know the pack next door. It is the Cloverfield pack, one pack I will not mess with, not even if I had a whole Kingdom's army behind me. Besides, I do not believe Mark's story, as everyone knows you never go into another pack's hunting grounds. I bet they tried to take over the land. The Cloverpack wolves are very possessive of their land, which is sacred to them. They have been on those grounds for thousands of years. Many of the wolves are also from the Cherokee tribe, and they only allow very special wolves into their pack. I heard they see their Alpha as the one that will one day get all their ground back. They have lost a lot of land to greedy packs like the Ravenstone pack.
"Don't help our parents. They are not truthful, and we can not beat the Cloverfield pack. They are an old pack, one pack I will never mess with. Besides, they keep to themselves and never mess with anyone," I mind-link London.
"How did you know they were with me?" London links back.
"Because their useless Alpha tried to convince me to go back with him as his Luna, but I know they only want me back because of my connection to you and because I can kick butt," I say.
"I see. I will send them on their merry way," London says, and we break our link. I can see Mark running after me, and I know he must have known I would not go back willingly, as I can smell his warriors nearby. I smile. I know they will try and kidnap me, and I need a good fight.
"Jeff, make sure that Wallis stays near London. My pack may try to kidnap her," I mind-link Jeffrey. They will try to get my sister if they can not get me.
"I will do so, Princess. Are you okay?" He asks.
"I am fine. I can fight, Jeff. Do not worry about me. Look after your real Princess, and let me worry about me," I say as I break the link. Jeff will go on about my safety if I do not break the link. I can not be distracted as I am about to get into a heavy fight. I know Wallis can handle my father and will whoop his ass. I am not worried about London as my father is more muscle than brains and will think London is an easy target and he does not need help. He knows I am strong, so he will send all his warriors after me.
