Here we go again with another Cinderella story, one of many actually.
The typical story wherein a lovely and humble princess who dreams for her prince charming her whole life and wait for the right time to finally meet him, or rather wait for him to come in his fancy outfit that shines stunningly in the sun, his manly physique, and his sweet smell of an unending love and puts on her glass slipper.
How cute right? So adorable, everyone surely loved that... A very touching story that feels so nostalgic that we always wanted to hear even for a thousand times. Never gets old, they say.
It is usual to hear that single story, it’s not new anymore. It’s so common that it even went on different variations, revisions, and remakes that even inspired another stories to be made in their own style and culture. The usual plot wherein the princess gets to be oppressed by her stepmother and stepsisters.
Become the maid of her own house. Experiencing all the cruelties in this world by her very own stepmother whom she trusted her life. The princess who was deprived of having chance to go to the ball, only to cry in the garden in her ripped gown... but then a fairy Godmother intervened and made it possible for her.
Including the carriage out of pumpkin, the elegant ball gown, and other sorts of magic. Then an immediate true love only in hours but then again challenged by the midnight rule. And there goes this search for the true princess by her glass slipper that only fits her foot, then voila! Announced as the prince's bride, they lived happily ever after.
But what if this Cinderella kind of story is different? Not the usual one you hear from your preschool teachers, or from you bed time stories… What if the princess didn't want the prince in the first place and same as the prince to the princess?
How could that happen, can they still be together? Is that even possible? What happy ending can we have? What if their encounter was just a mistake? How would destiny work this time? What things will happen in this Cinderella story convince us that miracle is real?
So here we go...
Irene is a simple girl that studies in Wellington Senior High, so simple yet she's our main character. See how simplicity plays a big role in yourself. Well, simplicity is beauty. She has her best friend named Wendy who's always been with her since elementary school, as in always classmates, and the fact that they're neighbors too. They always go to the same subject in school, and a neighboring address at home.
As usual for best friends, they know each other very well since childhood, and no one can literally separate them, like best friends are. Irene, as a top student tends to study more than to go to parties, but not a nerd though. She likes spending her free time in the library studying her lessons and doing projects.
She doesn't care about anything that'll distract her. She doesn't have time for some puppy love, immature love or anything else connected to that as she prioritizes her studies. She believes that it's just for people who doesn't receive love and attention they needed. Plus, she's too young for that. She likes one guy though, Chan. Irene met Chan on her freshmen year.
Chan is almost like Irene in sort of things which made her like him so much. Irene, such a silent lover. Chan likes poetry, and is very good in creative writing. He likes music with wonderful meanings, and music that is pleasant to hear. He is very good in playing violin and flute, it's his specialty.
He has an exceptional talent in arts especially painting. He puts a lot of effort in his artworks and has a very deep meaning about it. These things usually bring attention to him. His personality matches his angelic facial features which makes him as gorgeous as he is. Which is almost the same as Irene who loves poetry, music, and arts.
Chan is appreciative, kind, smart, and cute which makes girls genuinely fall for him, and Irene is one of them. Perfect example for a prince charming right? Good thing he's not into sports or else, he's perfect.
But that's not it though. Wait until Felix enters...
Felix is the campus' hottest jock you'll ever know, there's a lot of them but he stands out. As usual, every school has them, it's not like there will be none, right?
He is the dream guy of every girl in Wellington Senior High who always look only for the outside beauty and not on the inside, so basically he's the root cause of heart breaks in this school. And of course except those who already had a crush on someone else, like Irene. And for the record, Irene doesn't like him, she despises him so much for being a jerk. Adding those times that he'd been so disgusting towards her.
That's one fact, she totally hates him. Felix is a varsity of their school's football team. His tall figure and muscular body says so. To confirm, yes, he is totally handsome, a face you'd totally fall for. He is the Adonis of this school, that's why everybody likes him. He's the total opposite of the two mentioned above.
He sucks in studying, but not as low as D though, at least he'll still graduate. Well, except for Gym class which he always has an A+. He's not more of a slow and meaningful music, he doesn't like playing instruments either.
He prefers an upbeat one, a lively and energetic, a fierce song... something like that, and also rap, he loves that. He doesn't like arts either, he thinks that it's just a waste of time and effort. No one gives a single attention towards those trash, he thought.
The only things he's good at is playing football, playing every girl's innocent hearts, and making himself look the best, that's all. At least he'll get scholarship because of football. And for the last opposition, he's snob, arrogant, and egocentric.
He doesn't care about anyone but himself, but a few people will do, like his family and some friends. Basically, Felix doesn't care about Irene nor Chan. He isn't sentimental, not appreciative, and not kind... final! So how does that become a prince? Odd right? but let's see what happens.
This is where it all started...
Let's start from the very beginning. Like, the first day of school, it's a nice way to start.
