2 I stopped the car and got out at about the same spot the police had parked earlier that day. With the help of my trusty flashlight I could see around me, but everything outside the beam was darkened by the bright light. Fortunately I only had a straight line to cross to get to the mausoleum, and dragged my feet all the way there. The last gasps of the setting sun peeked over the horizon when I reached the entrance to the crypt. The possessed door still stood ajar, but at an even wider angle than before it tried to shut me in.
