“A Thousand Years” "I have loved you for a thousand years..." - Brandon *** Beam is a vampire who's lived over a thousand years now. With a promise to his one and only true love, he waited. And he has been waiting for him. All this time. All these years. Over a thousand years ago, Beam lost his beloved, a human, to an unknown illness. His heart ached for him. Day in and day out. He cries silently into the night as he thinks of him. 'My Forth... Come back to me, love...' It's the twenty first century and Beam had changed his name again, his style, his background. Now he's Brandon Jaruji. But as he welcomed his new identity, his heart remained the same. It beats only for one person. And always will. *** "Good luck on the new job, sweetheart,” a middle aged woman who looks like she's in her late twenties told her son. "Thanks, mom,” the young man in his mid-twenties gave his mother a kiss on his cheek. "But I'm a grown man, mother. So, please? Don't pamper me like a little kid. Lunch box, seriously?" "Give it to your girlfriend or something,” his father interjected. The Kree house is warm and the young man is happy. But every time he wakes up, he wishes he was still asleep to continue dreaming of a happier life where he felt complete and much more content. He sometimes internally beats himself for being an ingrate of his reality. He's surrounded by so many warm people yet he felt incomplete. His dreams tell him he is missing something in his life. Something he felt he needed to have. 'I have to find him...or her...' The young man drove to the new school he would be teaching at. He's recently transferred to Aspen University to get his doctoral degree while teaching. "Morning,” he greeted strange faces as he headed to his first class, rubbing his nose from time to time to get rid of their scent. It was the same as his previous job. Same old routine, same old habit. But it will all change as he stepped inside the lecture hall as he gazed upon the most beautiful face he has ever seen. His insides were clawing at him but there's always a right time for everything. 'Control!' "Good morning,” the young teacher greeted his students who immediately turned to him and were mesmerized by his handsomeness. He is in fact a good looking man. The new teacher stands six feet one, a bit tanned, well built with lean muscles, with brown eyes, straight nose, and luscious lips that girls and boys drool over for. "Good morning!" the students greeted back except for one, the beautiful one. "My name is Finnegan Kree and this is Algebra 1 or College Algebra." After introducing himself, he asked everyone to do the same. Finnegan's heartbeat began to rise dramatically again when it was the beautiful one's turn. He felt is knees weaken when something inside of him screamed once more and rattled with excitement. The beautiful young man tilted his head seeing the teacher's reaction. "My name is Brandon Jaruji. 1018 years old. Don't you recognize me?" The maddening sound of laughter from the other students thinking what Brandon said was a joke, was drowned by the eerie beep in Finnegan's head. He couldn't tear his eyes off the beautiful young man and when the said person walked towards him, his chest almost exploded. "I found you," Brandon uttered before standing on his tippy toes and placing a kiss on Finnegan's lips. A kiss that made him faint instantly. The laughter from other students was replaced by gasps just as fast. Some even shrieked when they saw the young associate professor fall to the floor. Before he could, Brandon had caught him in his arms. Ignoring the mix of reactions coming from his classmates, he carried the teacher in his arms and ran to the clinic. 'Not again. We just met. Don't die on me!' Brandon panicked. He paced back and forth inside the infirmary as the doctor checked on the teacher. After taking a look at the math teacher, the doctor got up and faced the worried student. "He seems fine. He'll wake up soon, don't worry. By the way, why did he faint?" "Um. I uh... I kissed him." The doctor chuckled. "Of course you did." Thinking the student was just joking, the doctor left. Brandon sat on a chair next to the bed and waited for Finnegan to wake up as he held his hand in his cheek. "It was just a kiss. Wake up, please. I just found you." Slowly, the teacher opened his eyes and he gasped when the first thing he saw was Brandon's face. "Hi..." The student smiled warmly seeing the teacher wake up. "How are you feeling?" Finnegan blinked a few times and process what's on his mind. In his brief sleep, he dreamed of the young man in front of him, crying and deeply devastated, calling him but in a different name. And though he seemed weak, he called him back. "Beam..." Brandon was surprised to hear that old name. Name he used a thousand years ago. "Y-You remember me?" He said through cracking in his voice, tears threatening to fall from his eyes. The math teacher slowly got up and sat down much to the worry of his student. "I dreamed of you. Many times..." "Those were memories, love." Brandon smiled with tears painting his pale cheeks. "That was us. A long long time ago..." A deep crease registered in Finn's forehead. "Memories? What do you mean?" Brandon got off the chair and stood before Finnegan. Gently he cupped the man's face and looked at him in the eye. "You lived before. You've been reincarnated. I've waited so long..." "H-How long...?" Finnegan asked and returned Brandon's touch by pulling him close by his waist. The touch of Bran's hands sent warmth to his heart although the young man's hands were cold as ice. He felt his soul calling for Brandon. It was an odd feeling but he loved it. "A thousand years..." came Brandon's raspy voice. A painful stab hit Finnegan in the chest. As if all the agony brought by the length of time Brandon had to endure had penetrated his heart in one go. His own tears began to leave his eyes and flow like tomorrow will never come again. "I'm sorry..." Finnegan croaked. The dreams had gradually come back and each one placed themselves on order. His thousand year old memories. "My Finnegan..." Brandon wiped Finnegan's tears away with kisses. "Brandon..." Finn rasped and hugged the other man tight, burying his face on his chest. "I remember... You were my Beam..." "And you were my Forth..." The two remained in each other's embrace, savoring the moment their souls had been waiting for a thousand years. And when Finn raised his head, he pulled Bran to his face, closed their gap and joined their lips together. It was their first lover's kiss after a very... long...time. They tasted each other's mouth hungrily. When Bran hesitated, afraid he might hurt his love again, Finnegan didn't let him pull away. "I fainted not because you kissed me," Finn said while keeping Bran close. "I fainted because my wolf wanted out. I had to shut us down." A wide smile appeared on Bran's lips. "You're born a werewolf?" Finn nodded. "D-Did you smell me?" Finn grinned and planted a soft kiss on Bran's forehead then nuzzled his nose against the pale man's neck. "Strawberry." He nipped on Bran's neck drawing a little blood before he licked it clean. The wound closed up and healed very fast. "Mate," Finn husked on Bran's ear. "And you're not getting rid of me fast. I can live as long as you now. Even forever..." Bran smile turned into a soft laughter but with tears in his eyes. He was crying happily. "You're a Corvin." A Corvin werewolf is immortal, born as a black wolf with red eyes, rumored to be a reincarnation of the first werewolf. "Yes," Finn responded with the same teary eyes. He was smiling at Brandon, lovingly. "But I'm trying to live normally. I'm only twenty six. I was preparing myself to a lifetime of loneliness." "You have me." Brandon climbed on Finn's lap and lay his head on the tanned man's shoulder. "I'll make up for the thousand of years you suffered alone, love..." Finn rubbed Bran's back, unaware of where they are now. "It must have been hell waiting for me..." "It's worth it." Bran answered. "Now, take me home. I don't want to see the same books I studied so many times over. Only in a different language." Finn chuckled and got up with Bran clinging to him. "Home it is."
