“Why are you looking at me like all of this is my fault?” Jerrod grumbled under Nick’s wrathful gaze.
“Because you had the audacity to follow us when you should have stayed back and handled things in my absence! If Alpha Xavier had arrived with you there, things wouldn't have led to this!” Nick roared out, his body trembling with rage. “Not to mention that you tried to flirt with my mate!”
“I didn’t know it was her!” Jerrod scoffed.
“You were trying to bribe her!” Nick barked.
“Can we figure out what to do about Xavier first?” Janet interrupted angrily, her eye narrowed into slits. “He tracked me because I wasn’t at the palace. And what do you mean-“ Janet rounded on Nick who took a few steps back warily. “-that Xavier arrived earlier than expected? You knew he was going to visit?”
