Nick lead Janet through the different courtyards and gardens, pointing out the different landmarks and statues that were part of his palace grounds. He relayed to her stories about the kings and queens of past who had lived in the palace, and the legends that had grown around them. Janet was pique'd when they stopped near a stone path. She watched the way Nick's steady eyes gazed at a spot where the path disappeared into wilderness, vines of roses obscuring what lay beyond from view. He looked as if he was trying to make a decision about something important. Finally, his gaze hardened and he lead Janet away towards a tree where there was a picnic basket and a blanket laid out. There was a note in the picnic basket.
