“What are you doing here?” Nick asked, eyes narrowing in on Janet who looked back at him defiantly.
She stood in the darkness of the dirty dungeons in her pristine silky nightrobe. A beautiful goddess in a place filled with filth. She did not belong here.
“I think I have a right to be part of this,” Janet replied in a steely voice, her eyes never wavering as she looked straight at Nick.
Nick let out an exasperated sigh, his head falling into his hand briefly before looking back up at Janet with a softer expression. He did not want her here, but if she wanted to be here, he could not stop her. His mate was stubborn and yet he loved her even in her stubborness.
