Chapter 9
The next few hours passed in a blur as the two worked to get things in order. Stephan phoned his mother and she arrived posthaste with Judy on her heels, the two of them helping as much as possible. While Wynona ushered everyone out of the kitchen to make her prize-winning chocolate cake, Judy got busy with Stephan in the four seasons room, stringing up lights and pushing furniture around. Ian, on the other hand, after making sure their intended officiant could swing by, made an appearance in both rooms to make it look as though he was helping. He’d already phoned his parents and knew they would be waiting for him to initiate a video chat on the laptop.
