Rose As my eyes opened, I tried to get my bearings. I was staring up at an ugly ceiling fan, yellow stains all around it. I turned my head slightly to the left and noticed a television on with the sound turned down, either that or my hearing wasn’t working yet. I felt a dip as the bed I was lying on moved on one side. I turned to see Zac sitting at the edge of the bed, a worried expression on his handsome face. “Hey, how are you feeling?” He reached for my head and laid the back of his hand against it gently. “No fever, do you want some water?” I just managed a nod, my throat felt so dry. “Where are we?” I said as I lifted my head slightly to sip from the glass of water Zac was holding up for me. “A motel, we had to get off the streets.
