When Joe saw this, he squatted against the wall and covered his head, remembering how he was punched last time; it was a conditioned reaction.
However, instead of the expected punch, Joe heard a loud scream, but it did not sound like Barret.
Looking up, the guy who had rushed to the front was already lying on the ground holding his stomach and moaning in pain. And then Joe realized that Barret had knocked down several people in the blink of an eye.
Joe was dumbfounded. He never thought that Barret knew how to fight!
When he saw his men being beaten up by such an old man, Daniel became livid.
"What the hell? You need a f*****g lesson it seems,” Daniel yelled as two of his men immediately took out knives from their pockets and surrounded Barret.
"Be careful, Barret," Joe gulped in fear. They were both going to die today!
Barret smiled slightly, "Don't worry, master."
In less than ten seconds, the knives in the hands of these two gangsters fell to the ground, and the two of them lay on the ground grunting in pain.
Daniel was shocked and slightly afraid but he flared up. He picked up a stool and was about to smash it on Barret.
Barret smiled coldly. "Mr. Daniel, are you sure you want to do this? I advise you not to be impulsive. We still have room for negotiation. If you insist on doing this, don’t blame the outcome on me."
Daniel stood still as if pondering over Barret’s words.
Barret spoke again. "Mr. Daniel, do me a favor, put the stool down, and let us have a talk. Better to get rid of enmity than keep it alive."
Hearing this, Daniel slowly put the stool down. "What do you want?"
"That's right." With that, Barret glanced back at Joe, as if saying, "How's that, master? I didn't lie to you."
At this moment, Joe, who was relieved from his surprise, felt refreshed and surprised at Barret. He had imagined this scene countless times in his mind, and he really did not expect it to be realized on this day.
"Daniel, I am waiting for your apology to my master,” Barret spoke.
Daniel knew he had no way out, so he gave in. He looked at Joe coldly and grunted. "Joe, it is a misunderstanding. I apologize to you. From now on, Danforth Street will be your territory. My people will never step into it."
"What? Even if you want to give it to me, I do not want it. I do not want to waste time with you. Talk to my butler.” Joe replied with an air of royalty. He was going to take full advantage of this situation so he pulled a chair and sat down, and took a bottle of drink from the table, ready to watch the show.
Daniel nodded and looked over at Barret. "This is really a misunderstanding. You said that I should apologize and I apologized."
Barret nodded, took a cigarette from the case on the table and handed it to Daniel.
Daniel accepted it thankfully. In his opinion, this matter was over. "Thanks."
After that, he puffed a few cigarettes, trying to suppress the fear in his heart. Only later did he realize that Barret had been looking at him coldly as if waiting for something. "Um…sir, can I go now?" Daniel asked.
"You burned three smoke scars on our master's arm. Our master is a very nice person. We came here today just to let you return what he got. We have no extra demands. Isn’t that fair?"
That seemed pretty fair to Joe, but Daniel’s eyes widened. Daniel knew if he said no, Barret would chop his finger off, not to mention still burn a few smoke scars on him.
"Sir, please forgive me. I know I was wrong, and I will never hurt your master again."
"I am talking about the past. I don’t mind what you do in the future and I am not asking for your opinion, got it?" Barret replied with a cold smile.
Daniel gulped. He could tell from the tone of the old man that he was serious. And if he negated him, he would be hurt much worse. Daniel gulped and nodded. "Yes, got it."
"Well, let us do it right now. Our master's time is very precious."
Daniel hesitated for a few seconds but closed his eyes and pressed the cigarette butt onto his left arm.
The air was filled with the smell of burnt skin.
Seeing Daniel's face distorted from the pain, Joe felt happy. It felt so good to pay off old scores.
Barret clapped his hands. "Wonderful, Daniel. There are two left, come on."
Daniel gritted his teeth, cursed Barret viciously in his heart, then puffed up a few cigarettes and pressed down on his arm again. A grunt escaped his lips from the pain.
Daniel took a few more puffs again and was about to press the butt again on his arm when Joe stopped him.
"Forget it."
Daniel was taken aback, then looked at Joe with a puzzled look.
Barret smiled in relief; Joe's actions proved that he was a kind-hearted person by nature. After so many hardships, he could keep this kindness. It was rare and commendable.
"What...what do you mean?"
"Nothing. I will let you go today, but if I find you hurt someone again, I will not spare you."
Daniel was dumbfounded, looking at Joe without a word for a long time.
"Barret, let's go."
The two of them left the room quickly.
The room was not quiet for long before Daniel’s men roared in anger. "Daniel, let's find a few more men. We have to kill them."
The other guy stared outside the window in confusion. "Daniel, they came in a Rolls-Royce."
Upon hearing this, everyone squeezed to the window, and even the ones who were knocked on the ground leaned in to watch.
Looking at the Rolls Royce driving away, Daniel sighed speechlessly.
"s**t, this kid is really a rich man. To experience life by picking up trash? Are the rich that bored?"
"Daniel, what shall we do?"
"I don’t know. Just f*****g go away. We’ll talk about this later."
