Joe glanced at Barret speechlessly.
"Are you kidding me now? Seriously?"
"Master, I told you that you should be as calm as possible at such a time because panic and fear won't help."
Joe gave Barret a thumbs-up.
"From now on, I will call you Professor Barret, because you never forget to lecture me."
When Barret was about to say something else, the door was kicked open.
A dozen gangsters rushed in, clutching steel pipes.
They looked obviously more formidable than Daniel's men.
A tall and thin man walked in, surrounded by Daniel and his men.
"Ronnie, it's them!"
The Ronnie man was not in a hurry to speak. He lit a cigarette, took a few slow puffs, and put on an air of "I am awesome".
He squinted and glanced at Barret and Joe contemptuously.
"Well, you two are quite bold. How dare you mess with my friend? It's clear that you're messing with me."
Barret smiled slightly.
"I'm Barret. Who are you?"
Daniel started yelling immediately.
"Are you deaf? This is Ronnie."
Barret ignored Daniel. He didn't want to talk to such a piece of trash.
"What's your last name, Ronnie?"
"Carter, Ronnie Carter."
"Well, Mr. Carter, do you know the whole story? I can tell you about it. Here is the thing..."
Barret was about to tell the story when Ronnie stopped him with a wave of his hand.
"You don't need to tell me about it. Just tell me what you are going to do about it."
Barret understood that this guy was not a reasonable man. He just wanted to bully them with his gangsters.
He had made it much easier for Barret.
How dare you fight with the Andrew family?
You are no match for the Andrew family at all!
"Well, what are you going to do, Mr. Carter?"
"It's easy. There are two options. Give me 15 thousand dollars, or I'll beat the crap out of you."
Aaron spoke tremblingly after hearing it.
"Mr. Carter, we really don't have so much money. I will give you my money if you want it."
He took out all the money he had been given.
He was very kind and wanted Ronnie to go easy on Joe, but he didn't know that his cowardice would only make Ronnie more greedy.
As expected, Ronnie was surprised when he saw the money.
He had heard from Daniel that this boy named Joe seemed to be very rich and was giving away money to everyone in the warren.
He thought that it would be twenty bucks each, but he hadn't expected that it would be so much money.
There were more than ten thousand dollars for each person, and there were almost 20 people in this warren. The total would be about 200,000 dollars.
He said to himself that it was too little for him to ask for 15 thousand dollars just now.
"Good. Give me the money."
Aaron gave him the money reluctantly.
Joe tried to stop but without success. Barret didn't move at all.
Ronnie weighed the money in his hand a few times.
Aaron looked at him blankly.
"Mr. Carter, please don't be angry. Goodbye."
"Goodbye? Well, it's not over yet. I'm not going anywhere."
Joe sighed.
He had expected it to happen.
Aaron was surprised. "But you promised."
Ronnie kicked him.
"You will be safe today for the sake of the money. Go back to your own house, if you don't want to get your ass kicked. "
Aaron was helpless, but he didn't return to his house. He walked over to Joe and Barret.
Barret patted him intimately on the shoulder.
"Are you all right?"
"I'm fine. I'm sorry for dragging you down today."
Daniel yelled triumphantly.
"Hey, what are you waiting for? Give us the money or get beaten up?"
Joe was very anxious.
"Go and kill these bastards, Barret."
"No. After today's fight, they will come back tomorrow. We need to figure out a way to put this thing to rest once and for all."
"Quick."
"I have an idea."
He took a few steps forward.
Ronnie's men immediately surrounded him.
Daniel stepped back in shock.
"Ronnie, the old man seems to know martial arts. Be careful, guys!"
Ronnie sneered.
"Then I'll see how good he is."
Barret smiled coldly.
"Mr. Carter, are you out on the street?"
"Why, are you too?"
"No, I'm just...doing some chores, but I do know some street guys."
"Who do you know?"
"Abbott Robertson."
Ronnie was shocked when he heard the name.
The man named Abbott Robertson was someone big on the street. Although Ronnie didn't know Abbott personally, he knew who the man was.
After hesitating for a few seconds, he smiled unnaturally.
He decided to test it.
"Oh, are you bluffing? I wasn't born yesterday. I also know Abbott. Why didn't I know that he was your friend?"
"If you don't believe me, I can ask him to come over."
Ronnie burst out laughing.
Asking Abbott to come over? Who do you think you are?
It seemed that this old man was really bluffing.
"Old man, if Abbott heard what you said, you would lose your legs. Give me the money, otherwise, I'll teach you a lesson."
Barret glanced at him disdainfully.
"Have you ever thought about what would happen to you if I'm telling the truth?"
"Stop bluffing. I'm telling you, if you can get Abbott here, I will certainly bring him to his knees."
His men laughed.
"All right, I'll call him now."
"Go ahead. I'd like to see when you will stop bluffing."
Barret called Abbott.
After a few words, he handed the phone to Ronnie.
"He wants to speak to you."
Ronnie laughed and took it.
"This is Abbott Robertson, take your men and get out of there."
"Well, this is Abbott Robertson's father, you bastard. How dare you bluff me? I will kill you."
There was a hearty laugh on the other end of the phone.
"Why are you laughing? You bastard."
"You are so smart. It seems that I can't fool you. Don't you want 15 thousand dollars? I will send you 50 thousand dollars right now, but you can't hurt anyone in the warren before I get there, otherwise, you will not get a penny."
Ronnie laughed. He was offered 50 thousand dollars instead of 15 thousand dollars. Today was really his lucky day.
"Good. I'll wait for a while longer. I'm warning you, don't call the police, or I will come after you."
"Don't worry. Why calling the police over such a trivial thing?"
After hanging up the phone, Ronnie threw the phone to Daniel.
"Hey, nice phone. It's yours now."
Daniel was very happy.
"Thank you, Ronnie."
Barret said nothing and went back to Joe.
Joe tugged at his arm."Can you handle it?"
Barret was not joking this time.
"Don't worry, Master. He will beg you on his knees in a while. Don't be too soft-hearted with him."
