“Mankind’s relationship with the merfolk is much different to the Fae’s,” Rivyn replied mildly. “Perhaps you will become the first of your kind to bridge your differences as a result of our time together. A friendship with the merfolk would be to your advantage; they would warn you of rough seas and hidden hazards, save over-washed sailors, guide you when you become lost... Their allegiance is why the Fae are more successful sailors than man.”
“We see the other side of the merfolk more often,” Valhared replied, his temper easing as he considered the potential. “Sailors lured to drowning, ships wrecked...”
“You could end up with a reputation as the unsinkable pirate ship,” Rivyn suggested.
