5. Scentless

Sebastian's POV. Covering my face with my hoodie I began my jog. It was the best time of my entire day, it was also my favorite way to start it. Cool crisp air that crosses your sweaty hair, refreshing oxygen that fills your desperate lungs. Then there was the most important thing, being surrounded by the forest that gives peace of mind to your wolf. It was what they always yearned for. It kept my wolf alive and wild. All of these things used to give me a chance to think straight. I also put my sunglasses on, it was the best way to not draw any attention. Even though only a few people were milling around, I did not want to inadvertently reveal my identity. It was not my own private area but a normal public park, one with woods in the city. I always enjoyed my freedom here where there was no bodyguard, no media would follow me for photos, and no interviews because they never knew that I would want to be in this kind of place as it was a slightly wild wooded area. Even though I was a billionaire, the richest man in the country, I always liked to be around normal people. This was the place where I was born. I grew up here, this was my reality. The truth that had been hidden from the world, that the richest man in the country, Sebastian Howard, had been a slum boy. This forest was right behind the slum area. In my childhood most of the time I used to spend every opportunity I had here. Years ago I decided to leave this place with a burning passion and a crazy dream to become the richest man in the country. A dream to bring everyone to their knees in front of my money and name. But I always used to come back here as there were too many memories buried in this land that would never leave my mind and heart. The main reason behind always returning to the place where my existence began was so that I could never forget why I had decided to leave. I had never healed my years old wound because the fragrance of this forest was like the salt that was always rubbed on into it, as a reminder. Any medicine in this world could not remedy an incurable disease but not this hate inside me which had become a cancer. My wounds needed neither an ointment nor a healer as perhaps no one had been born to this world who could find the root of my wounds unless they themselves had lived with them. After running for about half an hour, I finally stopped in front of a wooden house. I took enough time to look around and around the house. No matter how much I admired it, it was beautiful even if it was small. Full of good and bad memories. That was when my phone rang. I threw my phone back into my jacket pocket when I saw that Roman was calling me. I made my way out of the house, again running back to where my car was parked. Aside from the chirping of birds, there was peace in the atmosphere, but it was broken with the next phone call. Once again it was Roman calling but this time I picked up. "There's bad news," He acknowledged, as I stopped my footsteps. Roman had gone in my stead for a business meeting in Italy because I had to go to Britain the same day. Both tasks were necessary, Roman was my closest friend and my business partner whom I trusted blindly. The deal for which I sent him was very important to me, so I chose him, but I never want to hear bad news in any way. "Let me hear it." "Giancarlo is not ready to negotiate. He does not want compensation, he is not ready to sign the papers, and he claims that he will file a lawsuit against you. He is also ready to go bankrupt as he is aware that he will not be able to stand up against you for any length of time, but his stubbornness greatly exceeds his physical height. So at the end there was no conclusion of this business meeting,' Roman informed. Giancarlo used to be one of my business partners until a month ago when he betrayed me. He was having a fight with a famous Italian businessman over land for a year. He was almost bankrupt due to all of the court and lawyer fees, then at last he requested help from me. I had never done any work for free, this time was no different. I wanted something in return. Honestly he was kind of sick as he was ready to offer me to his wife, but she was of no use to me. I never lusted after women. I offered to buy his land in return for his help, he immediately agreed as in return he was getting unexpected money. He was in a state of bankruptcy, so he could not allow slipping out of this good fortune to pass him by. I helped him as much as I could and at the same time saved him from bankruptcy, which was possible only with the money I had given him. I helped him with the court case as well. But before signing the land papers, he retracted everything saying that now he does not want to sell the land. He made many excuses in the name of his wife, his blood cancer, and children. He continuously changed his attitude like a chameleon. Today was the last day I was giving him a chance to talk peacefully, but the conclusion of the conversation was not unexpected nor was it acceptable. "Sebastian. Are you still there? Say something, your phone is on loudspeaker and this Giancarlo is about to die due to your silence. I cannot guarantee that he will be able to stay conscious for another two minutes," Roman let out a loud laugh at the end of his sentence. Giancarlo's begging and crying clearly filled my ears through the phone. "As always your prediction was correct. He did not negotiate and was about to flee with all the money and papers," Roman added. The day he cheated on me for the first time, I understood that he would not accept any settlement because he was greedy for wealth. Running away with his family with my money and land papers, my men immediately caught him as I had already asked them to be posted outside his home. What else could be expected from a traitor? "I am also present in the same building but what do I do with it now?" Roman wondered. "Come back." I only said these two words. "Come back? Then what do I do with this deceitful old man?" I could hear him kicking him, making him cry out in pain. Even though Giancarlo had cheated me. Roman was the one who was more furious about the situation. "Leave him in that building and come back," I repeated my words. "So that means you are letting him go like this. This is the first time you're allowing a cheater to live. Why?” He was confused due to the fact that I had never let any of my enemies go but always leveled onto them the most dreadful form of punishment. “Do as I’ve said,” I repeated. I could hear the door opening and closing. Roman was leaving the building. “Sebastian, I really hate the idea of leaving him. You have lost your money and the land brother,” He was disappointed. I heard him driving the car and smiled. “Who told you I lost my land?” “What do you mean? Giancarlo did not authorize it so isn't you...” He could not complete his sentence as he heard the explosion behind him. He cursed in panic while stopping his car. I could hear his breathing. “s**t!” He finally broke the silence after five seconds. The building where he had been was now turned to ash and rubble. Still I could hear the sound of its destruction. “You could have f*****g told me you were going to blow up the building with dynamite!!!” He shouted at me, nearly causing my ears to bleed. I could hear his heartbeat that was too fast as he had been present in that building a few minutes ago. I had never told him that I had already decided the fate of the building no matter if Giancarlo was going to agree or not. “Did I not ask you to leave as soon as possible?” “You are a really evil jerk. We are going on ten years of friendship, Sebastian, but I could never predict your next move, but I am happy you did not let the land go!” He let out an evil laugh increasing the speed of his car. I chuckled listening to him as I was already driving and was on the way to my home. “My Money! My Land! My Game!” I roared, speeding the car. I threw the phone in the back seat. “Those who f**k with my rights, I f**k with their lives!” It was evening. I was wrapping up my last meeting, it was going to end in the next 10 minutes. The project head was about to explain the profit margin before I got up from my seat, causing him to startle. "This is not going to work,” I declared. “Change everything. If we follow this method then we will gain no profit. Don't enter this room without a fabulous idea," His face looked pale, he quickly nodded. My secretary Lucas concluded everything swiftly then followed me. My phone was continuously vibrating into my pocket. I did not pay attention to it as usual, and directly entered my office where Roman was waiting for me impatiently. "God forgot to give you patience," I commented while taking a glance around my desk. He had called me at least 20 times. "Yeah because you forgot to give me some details before exploding the building with dynamite," He taunted. As usual I did not pay attention to what he was saying, I pulled off my jacket leaving it on the arm of the sofa. Lucas brought in wine for both of us. I took my seat in my comfortable chair. "How long have you been waiting?" I took a sip of my favourite red wine. Every drop of it was precious to me, I was addicted to it. "I just arrived a few minutes ago and wanted to celebrate our success with drinks," We clicked our glasses together. "Well, did you really kill him?" Roman was confused. "I wanted to send that cheater straight to hell, but I got a call from his wife stating that she is divorcing him, and that she was willing to be the one who would sign the papers. She was honest with the old cheater. As soon as I got those signed papers I destroyed the building but at the end of the call she had asked me to let him go. I was not going to gain anything from his death, so my man threw him out of the building before it collapsed. I did not want to give him an easy death as he needs to suffer from his cancer," I explained, now Roman looked truly satisfied. "That's great," he finished his drink. None of us ever liked to leave busy with an enemy unfinished. When I was about to take another sip of my red wine Lucas re entered the room. "Sebastian, what should we do with the woman? I am suspecting that she would come again today," Lucas must have gotten a call from the receptionist. "What is going on? A woman? Don't tell me that now you are getting stalked by a crazy female," he commented with a chuckle. It was common. I was stalked by reporters and psycho fans before, I had to get rid of them, but this particular stalker was different from the others. While I was lost in my thoughts, Lucas was the one who replied to Roman. "Every evening for the last 4 days, a beautiful woman comes to meet Sebastian. Despite the receptionist's refusal, she keeps waiting in the hall for hours on end. The receptionist told me she is stubborn. As soon as she learns that Mr. Sebastian has left through the back door, she stares at her as though she wants to strangle her," Lucas explained everything, I was picturing every word of his. I never noticed any of my stalkers but this time was different there was no way to avoid noticing her. Lukas had shown me her through the CCTV footage, but I only got to see her back. A slim and beautiful figure with long black hair was the only thing that I would get to see, after that I had to leave for my next meeting. I could not see her face and never tried to check again. "So she is a mixture of beauty, intelligence, stubbornness, and daring. In short, she is fire. Why does she remind me of someone," Roman let out another burst of laughter as he intentionally indicated to me. It was exactly my personality. I just shook my head brushing his words aside. "Did you not try to find out what she wants?' he added. "I do not particularly care," I replied in an even tone. "If you don't mind I can have a meeting with her and find out her intentions," as soon as he proposed the idea to meet the mysterious woman I felt irritation grow into my heart. He would meet her? "No need!" I almost warned him. "What's wrong?" He noticed my changed behaviour. "Nothing. Just don't meet," I took another sip of my drink, but I was wondering why I had behaved like that. Since that woman showed up in my office and I watched her through CCTV camera I was feeling different. I was curious about her, but there was something big that was stopping me. "Don't tell me she is…" Roman also got an idea why I refused to meet her. Taking a deep breath I placed my glass on the table and nodded. "Yes. I suspect that she has been sent by Mr. Oscar," I put into words the doubts and dilemmas going on in his mind. "I can't believe he sent a woman this time!" Roman exclaimed. "It is his new trick thinking that I would go easy on a woman, but it is another misunderstanding. Women or men, everyone is equal to me and those who would block my path I will have to remove them," I replied making everything clear. "But still she is a woman, Sebastien. I know what you did with the others who came from your father's pack, but they were men. I still don't understand what his reason was to send a woman, but I think you should think twice before doing anything to her," Roman elaborated. "I cannot turn soft just because she is a woman. Coming here, following me, and disturbing my life is her choice. She must be responsible for the consequences. I am avoiding her intentionally so that she would give up what she has been up to. What I did with the others was not my cruelty but their choice. They died due to their own choices to fight with my fighters in the club but if this woman tries to get on my nerves then she needs to be ready to see Sebastian's real face," I got up from my seat not intending to talk about her any further and grabbed my coat putting it back on my shoulders. "So what is your next move?" Roman also got up from his seat as we both exited my office together with Lucas following us closely. "I would just avoid her," I replied, stopping in the hallway of the second floor where I could see the first floor's receptionist desk area where I had spotted the women in the CCTV camera before. "I can see that she has already given up," I chuckled as I won the game. She had been continuously trying to meet me for the last four days and on the fifth day she gave up. Mr. Oscar could not find a strong person to pursue me as normally had. I did not have any idea why he had chosen a woman this time, but I never expected that this game would end so soon. "Oh… I can not lie that I wanted to have some more fun with the beautiful stalker women. I am disappointed that she gave up so fast, and I could not even look at her face once," Roman commented with a chuckle looking over the second floor empty seat where she used to wait. My fist tightened on the railing as I once again felt the same feeling that formed inside me as soon as Roman looked interested in her. His regret was bothering me. I never felt something like this. Brushing this feeling away from my heart I began to make my way towards the parking lot. "Let's meet at the fight club," Roman turned to his car after suggesting it to me, I only gave him a slight nod. I was driving home and today was Friday. No matter how busy I came to be in my business matters, I always tried to make some time for my club. When I arrived home I took a cold shower then left for the club immediately. I was on the way to the club, rolling down the windows in the car. The air was cold but refreshing. I built this fight club 5 years ago, now it has become the biggest fight club in the country. Even though I was alpha, I had never set up my own pack because I believed it would keep me bound by rules and regulations. Due to living independently since childhood, I was neither in the habit of obeying anyone's orders nor following the rules and laws. I made my own rules for my life and broke them when I saw fit. I believed that a pack was just a hoax. I gathered loyalty and warriors while the whole world was chasing after setting up the pack. Every single man in this Fight Club was loyal to me and fought only for me. Unlike the pack no rules no laws but just one law, Sebastian. Every word I spoke were orders, rules, and regulations for them. As soon as the car stopped in front of the fight club I passed the car keys to one of the men and was glancing at the door at the board where it was written that the place was only for men. This was my world that I had created with my own hands, where I was the king and there was no need for any queen. The door was opened for me as I entered. Those who were on my way bowed their heads. Then I chose to slip into another door or everyone was going to notice me. Roman had already informed me that he would be here in a few minutes. He always used to be a lazy ass so nothing surprised me. Lucas had already arrived though. A fight was going on in the ring area as I had taken my seat on the second floor. Entering there I did not want to disturb the fight. It was also my favourite place where I always used to be. There was only darkness which was what I enjoyed about it. It was a place from where I could see everyone but no one could see me. After a while Roman also joined us, sitting in the vacant seat next to me. "Did you know I met a wonderful woman outside of the fight club," I could tell he was very excited talking about the woman. "A woman in front of my club?" I raised my eyebrows wondering that he must have been having hallucinations. This section of Rose Street was notorious due to my royal fight club. Till now no women dared to step this way, so it was completely impossible that a woman was in front of my club door. "Yes there was a woman, she was not a weak female my friend! She did not fall for my flirting. My handsomeness, and money could not break her mind. Instead, she insulted me and treated me like I was no one!" Roman explained, I blinked my eyes listening to him. "So you flirted with her, in return she insulted you, treated you like a s**t, and all of this is exciting to you?" I have to confirm whatever I hear. Roman was not what he looked like. He used to smile, but he was also like me. If she was a man she must have been on the floor with broken bones after insulting him. "Yes! Trust me that woman is fire. I think she was thinking about entering the club. I offered my help, but she flatly refused me, now I want to see what her next step is," "Are you talking about that woman?" Lucas interrupted Roman, and we followed his finger that was pointing towards the ring. I noticed that an Omega was dragging a woman and threw her in the ring. "Yes she is! How the hell did she manage to enter?" Roman looked excited more than surprised. Everyone was surprised to see her, but I was gawking at her mouth watering figure. Even though she was wearing high heels I could tell that she was 5.4 which was not bad. Her waist was thin and the tight-fitting jeans hugged on her round hips were perfect. I was still not able to see the woman's face, but I recognized that she was the same woman who had been coming to my office to find an opportunity to meet me. My wolf Seth suddenly became energetic, he was on the surface of my eyes to see the female for himself. "That woman…" he spoke but could not complete his thoughts. He sounded confused. "What about her?" I questioned, he was still scanning her whole body. "Something is wrong with her!" He exclaimed, I had already sensed it. Something was definitely wrong. The feeling that I was getting right now was the same that I had gotten when I first watched her through the CCTV camera, but now it was uncontrollable. Her presence had turned my wolf desperate and restless. "She is the same woman. Today she did not go to the office but came directly here instead. How could she take the risk of entering a fight club which is dangerous for her," Lucas confirmed my suspicion that she was the same woman. I never studied any woman so desperately before but from the time I had seen her figure through the CCTV camera I could not forget her body shape, her curves. "If I win the fight then I will get a chance to meet Sebastian, right?" She asked the Omega. I could see that he was afraid at seeing her confidence. She came here only to meet me. She caught me in my home! How did she know about this place and... "What the f**k! It is wrong. She will not be able to win the fight," Roman was furious. "You should interrupt, Sebastian," he suggested when he saw I did not even move a muscle to see a man and woman fighting against each other. She had already started the fight and when the warrior kicked her legs she got up and faced him. "It is her choice to fight with the fighter and her consequences will depend on her ability. If she wants to meet me, like others she has to fight and win the opportunity," I declared, but Seth was growling in my mind slowly. He was trying to explore this unknown feeling that I was having in my heart. As soon as I could see her beautiful face my heart skipped a beat. She was beyond beautiful! Seth and I were watching her together, he was not ready to retreat. Now as she was facing us we had come to know how exquisite she looked. Even though she was slim, her breasts were perfect.they were large. Whenever she was dodging and moving her breasts were bouncing, I could tell that they must be soft and delicious. I wanted to run my fingers over them. Eat them! I could not even blink to take my eyes off this unfair fight, but I wanted to see what she has. How desperate she was to meet me? The strange thing that I noticed was that from time to time she was looking towards the darkness where I was sitting. I was feeling as if she knew about my presence here. She was trying her best, but my fighter was nothing less than a man eater. He had injured her quite badly. He had torn her cloth with his claws, her tops was now nearly backless. I was having a hard time controlling myself with all the other males being able to admire her smooth milk-like skin and body. I had to unbutton another button on my shirt as I was feeling so hot. Not only that, but I could not understand what this feeling was, but it was perfect. This woman was attracting me. That was the moment I noticed the fighter pulled her up violently and grabbed her breast. Unknowingly I instantly got up from my seat letting out a low growl that attracted the attention of Roman and Lucas. How dare he touch her there! "Sebastian, what's wrong with you?" Roman was confused to see my wolf’s eyes. I was trying hard to control Seth, but every passing second of watching their proximity I was losing my mind. I wanted to break his hand even though I wanted to pull his heart out more, and maybe I was going to do it but before that she kneeled him. The whole fight club turned into a peaceful silent place, it was the first time that I had witnessed this kind of silence here. A woman knocked down a worrier which was an unexpected outcome for everyone. They all lost their bets as she had defeated him. She had won the fight even though the referee was counting, but she was only looking in my direction. I was also looking at her but at the same time I noticed the warrior who should have accepted his defeat had pulled out his dagger. After losing the fight you could no longer attack your opponent, he broke this rule by pulling the dagger out. No matter if he was dead or not but after breaking the rule of the match his death was certain. Looking at her slowly I started to come out of the darkness, instantly jumped down before he could stab her. She was observing my every movement from jumping down to the first floor then jumping into the ring without a single blink. It was obvious that she had no idea that she was about to be stabbed because all of her attention was focused on me. I liked it. Pulling her close to my chest I kicked the warrior away. His body flew away out of the ring as his head slammed into the wall. The beautiful female in my arms was startled, but she was not afraid of me. Her beautiful chocolaty eyes were staring straight into mine. Her sweaty face only enhanced her beauty, why was I assuming that she was as precious as a diamond. Her heavy breathing was only seducing me further as it was fanned against my face. I sniffed into the air desperately, but the strange thing was she was scentless. "Who are you?" I could not help but ask her about her identity. How was it possible that she was scentless5. scentless? Her eyes widened as if she had seen a ghost. I could hear her heartbeat that was pounding considerably faster than mine. I became more and more suspicious of her when she did not answer me. Something was strange! Why did she need to apply a perfume that was hiding her scent? The next thing I knew she had pushed me away from her. She took steps back still looking at me with her big chocolaty eyes as if she was having an inner fight. She was continuously talking to her wolf. Then she jumped out of the ring without saying a word. She snatched her bag from one of the men and ran out of the club. "Should I stop her?" Lucas appeared next to me. I could not lie, my eyes were still on her ass. "No, just go and give her the invitation card for tomorrow's party," I ordered him, he immediately followed her out. "Now you are willing to meet her?" Roman entered the ring. I kept both of my hands in my pockets. "She won the fight and earned the opportunity all by herself," I answered, but my mind was still wondering about her. Who was she? Why did she affect me so completely?
