We were busy from midnight until 7 a.m. It only took two hours for the snowflakes to change from sporadic to heavy goose-feather snow. Aji's parents called him to inform that everything was fine and there was plenty of food and other supplies. They talked for a long time before hanging up. My parents and I looked at the snow in the sky through the window of the villa. The snow was getting heavier and the snow on the ground was getting thicker. The snowflakes changed from the size of a coin at the beginning to the size of a** bottle cap later, and then they were as big as a child's fist. My parents said that they had lived for more than fifty years and it was the first time they had seen such heavy snow. Our family chose a room each on the third floor of the villa. It wasn't too cold yet, so there was no need to live in the basement. We didn't want to live underground unless it was absolutely necessary. Originally, my parents had agreed to bring some takeout when they bought the supplies at midnight. I don't know how they discussed it on the way. They directly changed their minds and bought a bunch of ingredients at the 24-hour seasonal fruit and vegetable store to show their skills for Aji. To Aji's surprise, it was my mother who assisted my father and my father was the main chef. I looked at my parents smugly and said to Aji, "You have to cook for me in the future, you know?!" "Of course, no problem!" Aji saluted me. Before long, plates of delicious dishes with rich aroma were served one after another. My father did a great job today. He made braised kidney beans, cola chicken wings, braised prawns in oil, carp stewed in beer, and laver and egg drop soup. These dishes were all Aji's favorites. "Dad! Why isn't there my favorite pork elbow?" I grumbled dissatisfiedly. "Stupid girl, how fat you are. Look at our little Aji, how thin he is. He's 1.9 meters tall but as thin as a bamboo pole. Unlike you, you're like a bean." My father's disdainful words made the atmosphere at the dinner table lively all of a sudden. I was also willing to chime in, "Dad! I'm 1.6 meters tall and weigh 82 pounds. Where am I fat?" "Let's eat. Let's eat." Aji put a tender and delicious cola chicken wing in my bowl. I quickly stuffed my mouth with the chicken wing. My parents exchanged malicious glances and then started to eat. The meal my father cooked today was especially delicious.
