Today must’ve been the most embarrassing and shocking day for Olga Bartley who had always thought everything will go just the way she has planned, she could never have thought that Harry would treat her so cold.
With anger burning in her, she left his office and spent a moment standing in the hallway before going to her office.
She knew clearly it’d benefit her less if she stays here and act like a ghost while doing her work wo though his interference.
Her colleagues who had seen her go into his office were surprised that she went directly into her space when they were actually expecting her to walk out fuming and acting so pissed.
Olga sat in her swivel chair whilst rebooting her desktop so as to begin her daily work like usual, she went as far as checking her schedule and her boss’s own to be sure that she’d not bump into him till the day ends.
She didn’t get to have her breakfast as she was in a hurry when coming, as she got up to go get something from the office kitchen, just at that period, the glass door from Harry’s office was pulled to a side and she immediately ran back.
“f**k!” She let out, compressing her lips that they might have bumped into each other.
She happens to see her shadow from a side and was confused to call her friend on a FaceTime call.
“Katy, pick up!” She whispered softly under her breath.
“Hello, do you need Katy for anything?, she’s available!” Katy playfully said.
“C’mon, I only need you for a outfit screening,” Olga paused to position her phone so her outfit could be seen clearly.
“Now rate me, be sincere!”
Katy spent what seems like forever to analyze her friend’s outfit, she was confused that someone else had taken over her body but it wasn’t.
“Are you going to a club, during the day?” The question left Olga dumbfounded for the second time.
“Not you too, how come my best friend ain’t siding with me??” She rolled her eyes and pulled out the chair again.
“There’s actually nothing wrong with it but it just doesn’t makes any sense to be wore to your working place” Olga was only waiting for her to complete that statement before dragging the red icon to end the call.
She believed it was a good choice and there is nothing anyone could say that’ll make her feel like she has made a wrong choice.
She continued to work on her desktop, doing everything as fast as she could whilst slowly dying of hunger.
Some moments later, it didn’t occur to her that someone was knocking on her door until she raised her head to stretch and her eyes was darted in Daniella’s direction.
“Come in” she said in a soft whisper whilst using her hand to make signs.
“First off, I have to compliment your style, I really wish I can come to work dressed like this as well” The lady giggled happily, she had to stop after seeing the way Olga rolled her eyes at her.
‘Maybe he was right with what he said about influencing others’ Olga muttered with a forced smile.
“Go to the reason that brought you here” she requested, switching to a professional mode even though her outfit denied the word ‘P’.
“Mr. Johnson requests that all employee under your team should gather in the conference room.
“Ohh…” she paused, her head calculating how to escape this situation.
“Do I have to be present?”
“In another word, YES, you might be his secretary but in this situation, you’re our team leader” Daniella said with a big smile, funny how she doesn’t even know how to read the situation.
Olga didn’t respond for straight 5 minutes until the small electronic device used to call her attention beeped, she gulped down the saliva that has successfully stored in her throat like lump before thinking straight.
“Let’s grab some files so we can leave” she forced a smile, passing her folders to her junior.
With her shoulder held high as if all was well, or like a stubborn little head, she walked graciously into the conference room where her team members were all seated and the only person that seems to be absent is the one who gathered them here.
Olga intentionally sat at the last end with her head hung low and the black folder covering her face, hoping she’d not get discovered.
Too lost in her own world, she didn’t realize the murmurs from her team has reduced and it was only because someone was in the room.
Harry who knew clearly that it was her, patiently walked to her spot with a very furious look as he was so angry.
“Are you ears only there for earrings and decorations?!” Harry yelled angrily as her jerked the file from her whilst flinging it to a side.
Olga was in deep shock as she couldn’t help but stare at him with nothing in her mouth.
“Sir, I…
“How is she able to maintain her job as a secretary if she’s this wacky and disobedient?” He asked, obviously directing it to the people working under her.
“My place is very far from here and it would be another waste of money to go home and change so…
“So what?, if you knew that , why dress like a hooker in the first place?” He continue to lament, the whole staff has their mouth widened in disbelief, they just couldn’t believe that someone would talk to Olga in such manner.
“Unless you prefer trouble to peace, get out of here and come back only when you’ve changed into something that tally with your position in my company!” He gave his statement clear and of course, he doesn’t needs to be questioned.
She brought this on herself, all it could have taken to solve this was getting a change of outfit.
She didn’t utter a single word as she picked her phone and pens, she went straight to her office and picked her bag whilst holding in what was burning in her.

“For him to act that way, you must have pissed him off really bad?” Tom, one of her friends who was on the call with her said.
“I don’t even care, is everyone available?” She asked, directing the Uber driver.
“I think so, do you want us to bring forth our outing to today?” He understood the assignment, they’ve been friends for years and it’s easy to guess what she wants.
“Exactly, I’m taking the day off and I don’t care what happens after this” she replied, feeling confident than never before.
“Okay, I’ll text Peter and Katy, you go there and wait for us” the call ended afterwards.
“Excuse me, can you go in another direction, my appointment has been changed and I have to be in a different place” Olga tries to explain to the driver.
“I’ll have to stop this ride and then you’ll pay for it and pay for the other place” he explains, she bit her lips in regret.
This could’ve been avoided if she called way before she angrily left her company.
“Well, just drive” she flared her nose and gazed away.
Upon her arrival at the Cafe, Flower shop owned by one of their ex-classmates who is currently not in the country but they’ve been meeting there and doing everything for free.
“It’s been a while since I saw you” one of the staffs there said as he acted like a gentleman by pulling out the chair for her.
“It’s normal, I’m a busy woman you know” she wasn’t in the mood to play around but he cannot be ignored.
“Well, let me ease your stress by serving you a chilled Chapman”
“No, I’ll wait until my fr…” she was halfway to completing her statement when the trio buzzed in like children’s from the same mother and that wasn’t even the case.
“Our baby Olga is looking stressed as f**k, a hug from us all will work” Tom announced with a smile, she was happy with the decision.
When she got up to receive the hug, both Peter and Tom has their mouth dropped to their jaw, they need no explanation and could only came to one conclusion.
“No man will let you stay in the company dressed this way, he’ll never be able to concentrate on work!” Peter, the shortest among them said whilst hugging her.
“That must be it” she said, trying to console herself with that statement.
They continued to chat and her mood was slowly changing, in fact she was already laughing out really loud and she knows no one could replace her friends since day 1.
“I drank too much bubble tea, leg stretching whilst sniffling flowers will be a great adventure” she said and got up to do as planned.
Olga was having a fun time checking out every flowers that caught her attention.
“Excuse me, I need a bouquet of flowers specially designed for congratulating someone” the voice rang a bell in her head but she wasn’t so concerned until the staff walked towards her and asked her to move that they’ll be picking flowers from there.
“Oh okay, I’ll just…” The word she wished to utter ran back to where it was coming from, the manly figure standing just 3 steps away from her has made her become speechless.
“Wow!”
