Sunlight streams golden through the window in a well mannered announcement of the risen sun I used to love watching the sun rise cause it always meant more hours with Kate, Kate was my best friend more like my sister, for as long as I could remember, our families were college friends my mom got married to her highschool sweetheart.. while her mom got married to her senior in college so basically we grew up together we live right across each other so we met up everyday we were inseparable but all that changed when she died in a terrible car accident two years ago she was the only one that didn't see me as a diseased weak weird boring girl that I am, she saw what I couldn't see in myself, is like my happiness also died along with her. After the accident her family moved away they couldn't bare staying in the house that reminded them of her and after a few months mom found out dad was cheating on her they got divorced after and I haven't heard from him since then, now is just me and my mom she tries to hide her pain from me but I know she's just as depressed as I am. she says storms comes not to hurt you but to make you stronger, I say the storm didn't hit you hard enough then. Kael mom said as she stood by the door giving me that fake bright smile but I could see through her mask clearly, they is no way I couldn't read those beautiful hazel eyes, they were a radiating brown sun warmed with inner gold that went perfectly with the gentleness of her features and honeyed skin, she could soothe anyone. It was a skill that came to be more treasured than any other, in those brutal times there was nothing more anyone could want more than to be a natural born with a nurturing soul, and one was better than her, if I wasn't gone beyond repair she might have been able to heal me. . My love you need to get up and get ready Stephanie Kael mom said as she tucked her blonde hair that was every hue from white spun sun to golden brown, all married into long flowing locks behind her ear. Do I have to Kael said after turning and laying on her back in her bed. Yes sweetie you have to I just got off the phone with Dr Evans and she's waiting for us, Stephanie let out a sigh, baby I know this isn't easy but you have to be strong I promise we get through this together now get ready I'll be waiting for you downstairs ok. Ok mom . Stephanie smiled at Kael before turning and leaving the room. Kael left out a heavy sigh and covered herself with her blanket. I was twelve when they found it they found out I had Hodgkin's lymphoma, I went for chemotherapy and luckily for me I was cured but two years later I woke up in the middle of the night I couldn't breath.. my chest, felt like hell i was rushed to the hospital immediately and I was diagnosed with lung metastasis, it turns out the cancer spread to my lungs. Everyone I know have been expecting that one tragic phone call for the past few years, the only one that still has hope is my mom, I wish she wouldn't, it would be easier for her and it was starting to be that way when my doctors told us the treatment wasn't working for me until Doctor Evans told us about this new trial that might work for me, I think it will only get her hopes up, it doesn't really matter to me cause I'm already dead anyway. Kael this will be your room during your stay here Doctor Evans mentioned as she lead the way in and this is nurse Ana introducing the woman wearing blue scrubs, she looked like she was in her mid 30s, she was chocolate in complexion, a little chubby, probably 5.8 in height with dark natural curly hair tied to the back. If you need anything just press your call button and one of the nurses will attend to you, nurse Ana is here to help you settle in and show you around the new hospital ok, I need to discuss something with your mother so I'll leave you with nurse Ana ok. Kael nodded, I know you said that I don't need to come and visit you everyday but I really want to Stephanie said to kael, no mom you don't have to it will just be stressful and I'll be fine mom, I know, Stephanie said I love you so much my baby you will be fine ok. I love you too mum, bye you need to go now kael said with a faint smile on her face, Ok sweetheart, I'll call you later bye love Stephanie said after kissing her daughters forehead. Is nice to meet you kael nurse Ana said after Doctor Evans and Stephanie left the room. Same here ma. Kael replied to nurse Ana as she approached her bed and sat down, you should call me Ana I'm not that old she said jokingly and I'm not just here to be your nurse if your Lucky I might consider you as a friend. Kael chuckled, well I hope I do get lucky then, Ana gave her a wide smile I think I should start showing you around now. Yeah I guess. This is the cafeteria Ana said showing kael the large cafeteria that was filled with some patients eating in their tables and the left side was the serving counter and with the chefs serving the food, this is where your going to be eating all your meals except if you get too sick or contagious to others then your meal would be delivered to your room, come let me introduce you to the chefs Ana said while pulling kael's hand towards the serving counter, kael was pulled by surprised cause she was lost in her own thoughts and she ended up bumping into someone with cake in their hands and they both ended up falling to the ground with cake all over them, kael lifted her head up and was about to start cursing the person for bumping into her and ruining her cloths with cake but she became mute as her gaze fell met the those mesmerizing ocean eyes.
