Chapter 3

The training was pretty awesome, not as intense as back home but an okay workout. Gregor and his men were great opponents to go up against. Even with that said, there was always moves that I kept to myself. I never showed anyone everything I was capable of doing. If I did show them, then everyone would know what to expect from me. I didn't want everyone to see how exactly strong I was or what tricks I held up my sleeve. I think that is something worth keeping to oneself. Training was apart of my everyday life back home. I trained before and after school every single day. The only day I had a break were Sundays. After dinner I lifted weights and ran on the treadmill. Was I a beast? Some would say yes. Was I a monstrous beast? No, definitely not. I wanted to let my wolf out for a run, he wanted to run but I was unfamiliar with our surroundings. If we were home, we had our own little private area by our lake house. I had come up with a pretty good trail that he seemed to enjoy running. We knew where we had to duck, leap, and jump over things. I taught what I needed to during our intensive training session and walked back to the packhouse. Gregor walked with me and we discussed things he could improve with his pack. I listened to him and made a suggestion on things they could do differently in training for the future. I walked to my room to clean up and get myself ready for dinner. I took a shower to wash away the sweat and filth from the training activities. I then went and had dinner with my father, our men, Alpha Gregor and his men. I ate quickly and excused myself. I walked outside and made my way to a trail that I had stumbled upon this afternoon. It called to me, I couldn't explain why but I was itching to explore where it led to. I was going to run but I decided to walk it. Dinner was served early today so there was plenty of light left. It was a peaceful walk and I was alone, finally. I couldn't feel people's eyes on me, watching me, judging me. I couldn't hear their whispered words about me. I paused when the trail split. I looked down the way to my left and then to my right. "Hmm. I wonder which way I should go." I thought outloud and to the forest of trees surrounding me. "Go left." My wolf called out in my mind. I never questioned him and just walked in the direction he told me. We walked for about another two miles and came up on a beautiful lake. The lake had crystal clear water with an actual beach. It may have been the most beautiful place I had ever seen. I walked out to the edge of where the grass meets the sand and took my shoes off. I held them in my hand as I took my first step. My feet smushed into the sand, the sensation of the sand going between my toes, for some weird reason, relaxed me. I walked to the waters edge, dropped my shoes down, and I had a seat. I ran my hands through the sand like a child would do. I picked up a handful of it and watched it, as the sand drained from my fingers. I did this a few more times and I smiled to myself. I looked out to the water and I decided to go for a little swim. I was already in some shorts and it was a warm enough evening, what would it hurt? I took my shirt off and walked to the waters edge. I stepped into the water and to my surprise it was cool enough to be refreshing but not cold enough to freeze you. I waded in the water until it was up to my waist. It was spectacular, I could see my feet from where the water was so clear. I watched as a school of fish swam by and I smiled. Little things like this seemed to bring me so much joy and happiness. Being out here in the wild just watching as everything live its life perfectly in bliss. I decided to swim out, diving down into the water and swam out further. I kicked my legs to keep myself a float. I looked back at the shore, I was a good ways out now. I wasn't sure why but I swam out more until I finally felt I was far enough out. I moved so I was laying back and floating in the middle of the lake. I looked up above, at the sky, noticing the sun was slowly starting to set. The colors of the sky had hints of blues and purples beginning to show. The moon was already showing and I felt my wolf stir inside. I can't explain what happened but a bright beam of light hit the area I was in. It scared me and I swam as quick as I could in a panic to the shoreline. I got out of the water and looked up at the sky above me. It only appeared to be like this around the lake. The light went ultra white bright and I had to duck my head against my arm, blocking out the brightness. When I felt that it was safe again, I moved my arm down and a woman was standing in front of me. I didn't say anything, I just stood there, looking at her. Her hair was as white as the light and her eyes were a bright teal color. She was unique, to say the least. When she finally spoke her voice was soft, gentle, and soothing sounding. I felt my wolf calm and relax in her presence. "Hello, Prince Andrew." She said. "Hello? I am sorry I don't know who you are?" I told her, though I had a suspicion on who she really was. She smiled at me and nodded her head. "I am Selene. I am here to give you some insight. The path you are on, the path you and your wolf chose tonight, led you to me. War is coming. Your path may get rocky but will also be consumed with a love so great, so powerful that you would do anything for it." I listened to her and nodded my head as she spoke and she continued, "Mistakes are very rarely made in my pairings. Because of your courage, your sacrifice I will be granting you a love that knows no bounds. Keep pushing and keep striving and soon you will find your mate." She walked over to me and I kneeled before her. She leaned down and pressed a kiss on the scar of my face. "Remember to never lose hope, never lose sight, train and be ready." When I went to tell her I will a burst of light and she was gone. Was I dreaming? I looked back out to the water and spun around the beach, looking for the woman. She was gone as quickly as she came. "We should head back. I need a snack." My wolf called and I agreed with him as my stomach growled a little. I put my shirt on and walked over to the grass. I brushed the sand off of my feet and when I was satisfied the sand was gone I placed my shoes back on my feet. We began our long hike back to the Packhouse. As I got closer I felt my father trying to link me. "Andrew where are you? Are you there?" His voice in the link seemed worried. "I am on my way to the packhouse. I went on a walk on a trail here. I wanted to learn their lands more. I may have been out of range for our link to work properly." I told him honestly. "Very good, I am eager to hear what it was like. It has been many years since I have walked their lands. I hope that you enjoyed your hike. See you soon then." My father replied. I could tell he was relieved to hear from me. He closed the link down. I walked the rest of the way and it seemed as if the path was shorter this time. I was sure that I traveled the same way, but whatever. Maybe I had walked faster because I was a bit hungry. I ate a snack and went upstairs with my father and the others as we discussed the next phase of our plans. We would be moving to the next pack in two days. Then we would like to spend the next couple of days there. We would have them come up with different negotiations and send them off to Alpha Gregor for approval. We would also see if Lena's mind would change about Alpha Gregor. Since she would of had time to think about his question or not. We planned to leave the current pack around ten to ten thirty in the morning. It would put us at the Crest Moon Pack around noon. We would be running on foot and checking out the area between both packs. We dismissed our meeting and tomorrow we would hold training first thing. It would be our very last session for a while. Then we would get Gregor and his wants or needs in his contract negotiations. Then the two packs could hopefully be peaceful, hopefully. I still believe that it would all fall on Lena in the end. I walked up the stairs to my room, took a shower and laid down on the bed. I soon fell asleep and dreamed of Selene and what she told me. I dreamed of war and peace. My hatred for the world that always seembdr to be around me and then feeling the warm fuzzy feeling of love surrpund my entire being. It was like a soft and cozy blanket. I wanted to stay there forever, the feeling of being wrapped up in a warm blanket of love. It was nice. I woke up in the morning sad and disappointed that it was all just a dream.I would be lying if I said that I didn't miss it, because I did miss that wonderful feeling. I got myself up and ready for training. Went down got my breakfast and went on about my way. Training lasted a few hours. It was more intensive and was the best workout I had in the last few days. Next we all met in Gregors office and went over his agreements. Turns out that Gregor was wanting to expand his pack and Lena was key to that. The Alpha and Luna in Crest Moon lost their son a few years ago and would have been past down to the Betas daughter, Lena. Only problem is it is extremely rare that a woman would become Alpha from a Betas blood line. The pack would naturally push against anything she told them to do. Come to find out, Gregor went to court Lena, fell in love with her, and expanding his pack would of been just a nice bonus. This was going to be fun to explain to Crest Moon. Their territory lines would be almost touching with only about ten miles setting them apart. Negotiations on the territory lines were definetly going to play a huge factor in how things pan out. Was this the war Selene warned me of? Only time would tell.
