Chapter 1: Daddy’s Little Angel
“So where are we partying tonight?”
I glanced at my best friend and band mate Erica. “Let's get through the show first, huh? Then we’ll party like the rock stars we are.”
Erica grinned at me. “Since when do you worry about the show? You're always on point.”
I tossed my hair back. “Yeah I am. I'm also a little needy if you know what I mean.”
She nodded. “I do indeed.” She paused to apply the blood red lipstick she favored. “Wait, what happened with JD? I thought y’all were good.”
Was that a gray hair? No freaking way! I thought. My hair was still ink black and long. But my grandmother had been a premature gray. Aw hell no. Gotta get rid of that.
“Angel? Girl, you need to leave whatever you're smoking alone. You zoned out again.”
I gave her a droll stare. “You know I don't do that. I was just thinking. What did you say?”
“I said I thought you and JD were cool.”
JD was the drummer for our band. He was hot with his long silky blond hair and green eyes. I felt a stirring inside just thinking about his hard body. He was the kind of guy I went for, muscular, tattooed and pierced. And he was a beast in bed. He liked me, I could tell by the way he dropped hints and stuff. But he was just a friend with benefits. I wasn't interested in being tied down to anyone right now. I was young and interested in being on top of the rock and roll world. I wanted to be as big as my dad was.
“He's been dropping hints about us taking things to the next level but I'm fine with the way things are. I don't want to be in a relationship. I need my freedom.”
Erica nodded in agreement and gave herself one last look in the mirror. “I hear you on that one, Ang. I was having that same conversation with Javier. I need to be free to sample what’s out there. Besides, one day, the right one is going to come along and you'll change your mind and settle down.”
I laughed. “Ha. I doubt that. I'm not the settling down type. I like to be free to come and go as I please. Do what I want.”
“And who you want?”
“Of course.”
Erica gave herself one last look in the mirror before she straightened. “Maybe when we’re too old to rock, we’ll get domesticated.”
I followed her out of the dressing room. “That’ll be the day. You're never too old to rock. Let’s go.”
We headed down the hall towards the backstage area. There were a lot of people milling around, security, techies and fans who'd gotten backstage passes or had snuck in. Erica and I blended into the crowd and I drew a deep breath to calm my nerves. I hated crowded places or being alone in tight spaces. At least when I was onstage, there was a space between me and the crowd. I always dreaded this walk though I knew the security guys wouldn't let anyone get too close.
Up ahead, I saw our lead guitarist clowning around. You couldn't miss Moses with his shank of bright red hair. He was tall, slim and one of the most talented guitarists on the scene. We’d been friends since high school when we started their first band together. He was like my brother. Beside him was the bass player, Colin. He was a trip and the only one with normal colored hair. He'd stand out anyways with his long blond hair since the rest of us either were Mexican or of Mexican descent. Even I had bright purple streaks in my naturally black hair. Mama and abuelita, my grandmother always cringed when they see my hair and the two tattoos I have, but when your pops is a rocker, that apple won't fall too far from the tree.
Suddenly, someone grabbed my arm, pulling me into an open door. I turned, ready to fight whoever it was.
“Hey, calm down!”
I stilled as I recognized JD’s voice. He pulled me further into the dimly lit room and I relaxed. “Are you crazy?” I asked as he pulled me into his arms.
“About you, yes,” he answered.
“You know I don't like being startled like that.”
He pulled me close and kissed me. “Sorry, babe. I forgot. I just wanted to catch you before we got onstage.”
“Oh yeah? For what?” I asked, over my mad.
“To wish you luck. And for this.” JD leaned forward and kissed me again, his tongue filling my mouth. Damn, but that man knew how to kiss! I wrapped my arms around him, pressing closer. Heat flooded my body and I moaned against his mouth.
“Don't start something you can't finish,” I teased him.
Hia lips brushed along my throat, his tongue drawing circles on my skin. “I will finish it. And you know I will.” He ran his hands over my breasts and down the front of my body until he dipped between my legs.
I gasped. I was so turned on from just his kisses and this simple touch. I slid my hand between our bodies to cup him through his cargo shorts. It was his turn to moan.
“We can start the show a few minutes late,” I murmured as I nibbled at his mouth and squeezed him.
“Hmmm, I wish,” he murmured. “But they'll come looking for us. After the show?”
I nodded. “Definitely.” I leaned up and kissed him hard to remind him of what he'd get later. Pulling away, I turned and walked out of the room with him behind me. I could feel his eyes on me and I made it a point to add extra sway to my hips as I walked.
The show went well. As usual, we were all in sync and the crowd responsive. As I showered and changed in the dressing room, I felt my body still humming with adrenaline from the show and anticipation of making love with JD. He'd started me up with his kisses and now that the show was done, I wanted some relief. I brushed my soapy fingers along the tiny bud hidden in the folds of my flesh. It throbbed, wanting some attention. I sighed as I stroked myself. Just to tide me over until I could get a hold of JD, I thought.
“Hey Ang, are you coming or what?” Erica’s voice sounded outside the bathroom door.
I jumped startled. “Yeah, I'm coming. Be right out.” At least I was until you interrupted, I thought, irritated that I hadn't finished what I'd started. I quickly turned of the water and toweled off. I had to hurry because Erica had been known to bust in.
Moments later, we were in the limo and headed to this club that Colin said was always hopping. I sat next to JD with Erica on my other side. In the dark interior of the limo, I felt his hand creeping up my leg. I played it cool, talking and laughing with my band mates while inside, my body was on fire.
His fingers brushed over me and it was all I could do to keep calm and talking as if JD wasn't fondling me in the dark. He was laughing at something that Moses was saying. I leaned across him to get another bottle of water. I had no intentions of drinking it and he knew it. I pressed my breasts against his arm, slowly pulling back so that my hand brushed his crotch. I was pleased when I felt him start to thicken and he shifted in the seat.
Soon we were in the club and in the VIP section. It was a nice place and I wasted no time getting my drink and dragging JD to the dance floor. I slipped my arm around his neck as we swayed to the music. Our bodies brushed against each other, fanning the flames of desire inside me.
“You're making me crazy,” I said into his ear.
He grinned, sliding his hands down my back to cup my hips. “You and me both.” He sucked in a sharp breath when I began to grind my hips against his. “Damn girl. Why you playing like that when you know I can't do anything about it?”
“Why don't we find somewhere to go?” I asked him.
JD raised an eyebrow. “En serio?” Seriously.
I nodded.
“For real? I mean seriously?”
I drained the last of my drink and set the glass on a nearby table. “Don't you want to?”
“Yeah but-”
I felt myself getting upset by his hesitation. What was his problem? I pushed away from him. “Forget it. ok?”
“Angelica,” he began.
I waved a hand dismissively “Olvídalo, eh?” I snapped. Forget it. “What you won't do, someone else will. No big deal.” And I started walking away.
JD grabbed my arm. “Espérate. Hold on.”
I stopped, tossing my hair back and staring at him defiantly. “What?”
He blew out a breath. “I want to. You know I do. It's just, you've never like,” he broke off.
I had to admit that he was right. I usually could party and then take my date for the evening back to my room. But after tonight’s show and already being horny from earlier, the booze went down easy and I was ready for some action. There were plenty of good-looking men here at the club. If JD wouldn't take care of my needs, I was pretty sure that one of them would. And gladly.
“Maybe you should go back to the hotel. You've had enough tonight.”
“You don't tell me what to do, JD,” I snapped. “I want some action and I'm going to get it. Whether it's from you or someone else in here, I'm gonna get me a piece.”
I walked away from him, heading towards the bar. This cutie was sitting there already. I'd spied him when we first got into the VIP. He didn't seem to be there with anyone in particular, though that wouldn't stop me if he were. I strolled over and sat down next to him.
“Hey,” I said to him.
He looked up, his eyes lighting up in recognition. “Angelica Corona! Wow! Hi! I was at the show. You guys were awesome tonight.”
“I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, um, what did you say your name was again?” I asked, knowing good and well that he hadn't told me his name yet.
“John. John Price.” He pulled his program out of his backpack. “Can I get your autograph?”
I smiled at him. “First, John Price, you can buy me a drink.”
He nodded and signaled the bartender. Once we had our drinks, I suggested we move somewhere a bit more private so that we could get to know each other better. He readily agreed and we found a nice corner. I sipped my drink, absently listening to him tell me about himself and his dreams of a music career. I could have cared less, but I asked an occasional question to keep him baited. But I soon tired of playing along. I just wanted his services for a few moments of pleasure then he and his dreams of stardom could go away. I'd probably never see him again anyway. So why not get what I wanted from him?
“John, you are so damn cute. Where's your girlfriend at? She's crazy to leave you here alone.”
He smiled, his cheeks turning pink. It wasn't just an empty compliment. He really was cute. Not the type I usually go for, but cute.
“She's out with her friends tonight. No offense but she doesn't really dig your music like my friends and I do. So I came with them.”
I scooted closer to him on the soft leather couch. “So she won't care if I kiss you?”
His eyes darkened with interest. “I wouldn't mind. I won't tell her.”
I grinned. “Our secret.” I leaned forward and brushed my lips across his. A shiver went through me and the need for release rose up strong inside me again.
“That was nice,” he murmured.
“Hmmm. How about we make it hot?” I grabbed him by the back of the head and kissed him hard. He hesitated a split second before kissing me back with equal ardor. His hands roamed over my back and while it felt nice, that wasn't where I wanted to be touched.
I crawled into his lap, wanting to see what he felt like. I groaned as he moved his hips against me. Oh he felt like a big boy and the desire to see him won over my better judgement. I pulled his T-shirt up to slide my hands underneath. His skin was smooth and warm beneath my palms. Slowly, I lifted his shirt to admire his muscular chest in the dim light of the club. Leaning forward, I ran my tongue around his n*****s. His body jerked and he tried to tug his shirt down.
“What’s wrong?” I asked innocently.
He looked around. “We probably shouldn't do this here,” he said, lifting me off his lap.
