Chapter 11: Maddy Shore August 19, 20— 9:13 A.M. Boxford Agency Madeline Shore was a striking woman who came from mounds of money. She reeked of class to the nth degree and never came across as being mundane or unimportant. I took in her uppity labels from head to toe, kissed the back of her right hand, grinned with pleasure to meet her, and surmised that she was thirty-three-years-old and wrinkleless. She eventually took the seat across from my desk and we sipped coffee together. Lilith had the day off or I would have sent her down to Cupcakes Seven, a bakery on Lasso Way, for some outstanding baked goods, not that Maddy, as Mrs. Shore liked to be called, would have eaten anything of the sort, perhaps strict about consuming sugars and carbohydrates, keeping tabs on her waist size.
