After school I rode with Kiara to her house as planned and especially because Maddox was watching me like a hawk.
When we had exited the school Maddox and Dominic, both the brothers were waiting in the parking lot. Maddox was leaning against his car with his hands crossed on his chest while Dominic was sitting on top of the hood of Kiara’s. I had felt Kiara going rigid when her eyes had fallen on Dominic and then she had whispered to me, “Please, make him go away, Bree.”
Her words were so sad and heartfelt that I had to do something. I had gone straight to Dominic, looking at his bruised face, I had said to him, “If you really want my friendship then for this once let it be…”
