I was so intent on my musings that I didn’t realise that once again all the conversation had come to a sudden halt and when my eyes wandered to know the cause I realised they all were staring at me. Because, yup, Maddox Carter was staring at me.
When I met his gaze, his blue eyes narrowed on me. Flustered, I grabbed my back pack and my half eaten sandwich as I made my exit from the cafeteria. I didn’t want any kind of attention and I shouldn’t be glaring at him while musing about him. If I wanted to remain hidden from curious eyes, I would also have to stay away from Maddox and stop looking at him.
I heard his big brother chuckle as he said, “You didn't have to scare that girl.”
