EMBERLYN WOLFSONG
I find myself stomping quickly with so much fear in my mind and my brain, which I cannot seem to control, as my nerves continue to tremble within me. While I speedily make my way to only God knows where I don't even know where I'm headed. I just know that I need to get away from this demonic entity running after my life right now.
"Help!" I find myself screaming uncontrollably in my position. "Somebody help me!"
My feet hit against a stable branch along the way, and I fall fast to the ground, feeling my head smack against the dry glass. "Ouch!" I groan with frustration and rub my temples as I slowly turn around on the ground to face the beast, which is no longer running but is now glaring at me like a ferocious monster stalking its prey.
It begins to advance towards me slowly, glaring at me and snarling and licking its lips until it gets about a foot away from me and begins to sniff me. "It is over for you, Emberlyn," it speaks, and I find my eyes going wide. "Say you in your last prayers." The beast growls and opens its mouth, revealing its sharp canines.
"My goodness, it is now that I know I am so finished and doomed."
I find myself looking at the beast with wild eyes as I open my mouth and scream with every power within me due to the amount of fear that is surging and running through my brain as quickly as ever. I find myself jumping up on my bed and struggling under the covers as I finally sit up in my position and look around my bedroom with wide eyes, panting uncontrollably in my position.
The door to the room suddenly swings open, and Dad runs in with urgency. He stops at the door and looks at me with a worried tone on his face, then briskly rushes towards my side. Mom also steps in, and they both approach me with so much worry in their faces. "What's the matter? What happened? Why did you scream like that?" they begin to question me endlessly.
I blink, looking around me with that same fear still plaguing my memory. I find myself panting intensely as I look at the both of them while they hold each of my hands with a worried expression on their faces. "It's fine, it's fine," I say to them. "It was just a bad dream. I am so sorry I woke you guys up."
They both look at me with a sigh and then shake their heads softly. "It's all right, dear. Don't worry. It's going to be over today, okay? As soon as your powers and ability manifest on the full moon, you are going to have the ability to stop and counter all these frightening dreams. It's going to be over, okay?" Dad says softly and calmly.
I nod my head softly in my position. He chuckles and then rubs my hair. "Look out the window. It's already daytime. Why don't you get up and get ready to head to school? The solstice is going to occur in a few hours from now, and you know what you are supposed to do."
I bite my lip as I nod my head in my position. Dad chuckles and pats my cheek before walking away from me. Mom approaches me next and then gives me a very deep hug. "It's going to be fine, baby. Okay? You are going to make it, and everything will be alright. Just don't think about it too much, okay?"
I nod my head with heaviness, and the both of them begin to make their way away from the room. Mom turns back and looks at me with a smile on her face. "I give you about 30 minutes to prepare and be ready for school. Do that, and you are not going to be punished." She says with a smile on her face, and my eyes expand.
Oh great, here comes her early morning routine of forcing me to always be early to school, even though I don't want to. Oh crap, god damn it.
I find myself jumping away from bed and making my way toward the bathroom with maximum speed, even though I am too lazy to do as she wants and get things ready for school. I do not want to encounter the aftermath punishment of going against her instructions. Within a few minutes, I am done, and I find myself stepping down the staircase of the large mansion towards the dinner table, where they are both seated already having their breakfast.
Mom smiles at me the moment she sees me and places a plate in front of me. "Well, you are done right on time. That is expected of someone who is a daughter of the Wolfsong family."
I agree, nodding my head, softly. "Good morning Dad. Good morning Mom," I say, and they both look at each other for a brief moment before laughing out loud.
"You do know that you are not just seeing us for the first time this morning," Dad says.
I just shrug and then take my seat before picking up a slice of bread.
"Well, you had better hurry up with that. I do not want you going to school late on your first day of your power manifestation," Mom says with a frown on her face.
"I'm going to take you to school today to ensure that nothing distracts you as you focus on taking control of your inner core. Do you hear me?" Dad says, and I nod my head in my position, wiping away strands of red hair from my face.
"Oh my goodness, this is going to be the most nervous, frustrating day of my life. I have never been so terrified in my life before," I think to myself as I remember the event in my dream, the soft voices, the way they kept on telling me that I was going to be a failure, that I was not going to make it, that my life is going to be a cocoon of nothing.
"Oh crap," I say out loud, dropping the bread unconsciously to the table, and it creates a sound that forces both of them to look at me with wonder on their faces.
