Her deep sigh was the only sound in this room.  "You threw them in the fireplace. You erased it all. Were you happy, father?"  His father cleared his throat. "I am your father. I know what was best for you."  She chuckled in disbelief.  "Tell me, was it best for us to prevent us from pursuing our passion and marrying older men?"  Her father slapped her. The news spared her from that fate. Unfortunately, her mother caught the fury.  Her father apologized and glared at her.  "Look at what you have done!"  "Why would you point your finger at me?"  "Stop it!"  All she did was shake her head when her sister yelled at her.  Walking away from the scene was the best solution she thought of. She rushed to her room, packed up some clothes, and sneaked into the kitchen, snatching bread.
