“Can you believe the audacity of her?!” Selena paced back and forth in front of me, ranting to anyone and anything that would listen. “She lied…Straight to my face! Telling me that she only sees you as a brother…” She tutted. “Like I actually believe that. Does she think I am so dense that I can’t see through her little plan?”
“I assure you my love, Emmi doesn’t have any plans. I know for a fact that she only sees me as a brother. You can trust her, I want you to trust her…” I held on to her forearms gently, to keep her still while I spoke to her softly. “You are the love of my life and she is my best friend, I need you to, at the very least be civil towards each other.”
I looked into her eyes, noticing how they shone with threatening tears.
