Dinner with Julie March 2017“Sounds like a long meal,” Julie said in a near whisper. There was a bit of worry in her voice, a reluctance to ask when that meal actually ended, but there was also a note of envy. “It was an easy conversation. We had lots to talk about,” I added, although even then, on that wonderful evening, I couldn't say what we actually talked about. We just talked. Julie stood up and collected our salad plates and disappeared into the kitchen for a minute. When she returned to the table, she was carrying our dinner, broiled chicken breasts, some small grilled halves of potatoes, and a side of broccoli tossed with sautéed diced onions.
