Ember POV
The morning came fast as I woke up in Alex’s tight embrace. Although my deepest desire was to stay in the safety and comfort of his arms, I recognized the importance of being resilient and fulfilling my duty as a guardian.
Moving slightly in his arms, Alex woke up and brushed his lips against mine. The bond between us allowed me to sense his apprehension about my departure. Nevertheless, he chose to stand in solidarity and endorse my decision.
Once the two of us got up, we went to our room and got changed for the day. Alex established a mind-link with Luna in order to inform her about my plan, resulting in her promptly arriving at our bedroom door accompanied by Damien and the twins.
