Sold…I had been sold. Shawn hadn't made it in time. My heart was beating so fast and so loud that it was all I could hear. I didn't see anyone I recognized in the crowd. Jeremy wasn't here. James wasn't here. Kasen, Samantha, Juliana. I had no one, and I was all alone. My chest aches and my eyes welled with tears. The room looked like a big theater. There were groups of people with lights above their booths. The lights were low but that was nothing for my enhanced vision. I held in the whimper at the fear of what my future would be.
I searched the crowd for a sign, for anything. Jeremy promised he was here. He swore they would help save me. Was he a liar just like everyone else? My family lied to me, my old pack lied to me, what was one more wolf to add to the tally.
