I stepped into the bustling classroom for my first lecture and despite my urge to turn away, I cleared my throat. "Eyes on me everyone! Let's settle down!"
You would think years of lecturing would get you used to the annoyance of students but it wouldn't. With each passing day, I got more impatient to hear the decision of the board. I knew I'd earned it, it would be pure politics if I was denied the position.
I glanced around the room slowly, my eyes falling on the students who were supposed to be paying attention to me. Their little whispers were unbearable and the chuckling could nearly drive me crazy.
