It was a cold Sunday morning when I saw him. The ice blue eyes and straight smile was intense. Walking up to him, I noticed his tattoos. Gosh, the attraction is unbearable! I shook to my very core at first. "Hi!" he said, smiling. "My name is Blayde." he continued, eyeing me up. His eyes went head to toe and before he could make a comment, I responded to him. "Hi!" I said smiling back. I knew it would be a long time before I would have this same feeling. "My name is Kat. It's nice to meet you." I said, staring him in the eye. God, his eyes were so beautiful. We chatted for a few minutes, not breaking eye contact. The hallway filling up with people made us squish against one another. He held me tight as people moved around us. It felt like we were the only two in the room. Before long, the hallway was emptying and he let me go. I got so lightheaded that I almost fell, causing him to grab hold of me. It felt right, being in his arms. No, I cannot have these thoughts. He is married with kids and I have to respect that. But it doesn't mean the fantasy has to stop. Sheepishly looking up, I saw the smile in his eyes before his lips formed that signature sexy smile. Jesus, Kat, what the f**k is wrong with you? I made sure to get my stuff from the store and head back to the apartment quickly, so I didn't have to sit and torture myself any longer.
The elevator ride was longer than usual but I attributed it to his smile. Straight white teeth and a smile to die for. He really had it all. I get back home and decide I needed a cold shower. My body was vibrating from his smile and I wondered if he was single. The shower helped me come back down from the clouds and allowed me to get together my homework. It must have been super late when I went to bed. I fell asleep instantly. "Blayde, where are you? I'm waiting at our spot." I notice him come around the corner of the building and breathe a sigh of relief. What a sight to be had! Embracing me, he tilted my head up and kissed me like he meant it. Pulling away, I looked into his eyes and told him I lo-" I wake up startled and begin questioning things in my dream Was it real? Was this a premonition dream, like others I've had in the past that always seem to be... correct? Either way, I was up and in need of some coffee. Making my way to my small kitchen, I get a knock at the door. Who could be bugging me at this hour? I looked trough the peephole and saw Blayde! I staggered back and began to panic. Did he have a dream like mine? Did he know I had a ream about him? Oh, God! He probably heard me talking in my sleep. I can get pretty loud. f**k! What was I going to do? "Coming!" I half ass yelled. I threw on my robe and went to the door. Upon opening the door, Blayde meets my gaze and we lock eyes. For the first time I can see the true color of them. A mix between blue-grey and ice blue. "Kat, I got a call from one of your neighbors about you screaming. Is everything alright?" He asked, not breaking contact. My mind raced and my heart started leaping out of my chest. Blayde was standing in my doorway while trying not to peek at me in my silk robe. I noticed he started to smile and I wondered what was making him smile. Then I felt it - the breeze from my open living room window. Quickly glancing down, I see the robe tie as come undone and I am simply wearing a comfortable nighty. I blush a deep shae of red and make my move to tie it back up as fast as I can. "Sorry about that. The tie is always coming undone."
Smirking, his eyes scanned my body, thoroughly, before coming to rest on my face. I must have still been blushing when he commented about the dark shade of my cheeks. I made my way to my bedroom to grab another housecoat. "I need a minute to put on something more appropriate." I called out, hoping he wouldn't follow the sound of my voice. But, of course, he followed me and seen far too much than I was willing to show at this point. We didn't have any sort of foundation and I was scared about catching feelings. I have been hurt many times before and with experience comes knowledge. I learned my worth and decided that no man would be right for me if I couldn't accept myself. The nightgown I happened to be wearing was shorter than I'm used to, so the bottom of my bum was barely covered. I chose the longest robe I own and slung it around my shoulders. I could see him take a sharp breath in and I knew he was liking what he was seeing. Turning slowly to face him, my cheeks on fire, I walked towards him. A slow, seductive walk. He followed my hips as they swayed towards him. "I don't know if I am going to be alright. After all, I do live alone." I said, teasing him. His eyes lit up and he moved towards me. In one swoop, he picked me up and laid me down on my bed. He started trailing kisses down my neck and I could feel my kitty starting up. What kind of power did he have, to be able to make her purr?
My eyes opened the next morning and I realized it was all just a dream. Blayde wasn't here, there was no phone call about me screaming. So what was that? The dreams are getting out of hand. So I decided to have little chat with Blayde. Get to the bottom of this, once and for all. As I was locking my door to have a little talk with him, he appears almost out of nowhere. Was he at the other end of the hall, waiting for me to come out? "Blayde, hi, just the man I wanted to talk to. Do you think you can spare a few moments to speak with me?" I asked, using my customer service voice. No one likes it when I use that voice but it gets s**t done. He nods and I unlock the door. We step inside and I enter the kitchen. We sit down around my table and make eye contact. I do not know what he is feeling but I know it's intense. Without missing a beat, I asked him about the dreams. I know that vampires don't normally dream and if they do its not something they remember. I chose not to reveal my lineage. Almost three thousand years of life and no one knew. Not even my best friend, Gem. And I've known her for a really long time now. Hours pass before I feel satisfied with his answers. I guess I should let him go back to work. I'm sure by now you want some background information about myself. Well, I will spill some beans but you have to promise to read the rest of the book. Anyways, here you go:
My name is Kat Black, of The Royal Vampire Coven. The coven itself is over five thousand years old. Not all original members are alive to enjoy the fruits of our labor. I was born about three thousand years ago. I have witnessed and participated in some unusual traditions around the world. From rituals performed by tribes in Africa to watching The Great Wall of China being built. It was magical. We are taught to find and stay with 'The One'. That one person who makes it all better just by smiling.
