Taliban were involved in a firefight with a team of men emerging from the buildings. Jonathon, Rory’s antsy copilot said, “The rest of the SEALs had better hurry or we’re going to have to leave them. If these ragheads have a missile launcher, we’re toast anyway.” It was true, but Rory held on until the last of four men—one slung over the shoulder of another—scrambled into the helicopter as others pulled them in.
