*Edgardo’s POV*
A shake of my shoulder forced my eyes to open abruptly before I reached for my gun, ready to kill any intruders.
“It’s me!” Aurelio blurted before I could put a bullet through his forehead.
“What the fūck?” I hissed under my breath as I tucked my gun back in my pants before turning to make sure Penelope was okay. She still lay unconsciously on our bed with the machines connected to her, confirming that she’s still here with us.
“He’s losing his shīt again.” He whispered, forcing me to turn my attention back to him as I squeezed Pen’s soft hand.
“Did he get any sleep?” I asked him, running my fingers through my hair before reaching for Penelope again. I need constant contact with her to convince myself that I didn’t lose her like I thought when she stopped breathing for a whole minute while she was in surgery.
He replied with a shake of his head, forcing me to take a deep breath. I completely get it, but he will definitely take his wrath out on us. Not like he hasn’t been doing it, but still.
“I will be right there.” I told him as I turned towards Penelope, raising her hand to my lips and pressing a tender kiss on it.
I’m not what you call a gentle guy, but my girl barely made it out alive from the attack. The bullet was inches from piercing her heart, which was why she was rushed to surgery, of course, within the estate. I think I would have died if she really would have died on me during the surgery.
I don’t know how I let it happen again, but this tiny woman has completely taken over my life. She means to me more than either of us can comprehend.
“I can stay with her, you know.” Aurelio stated lowly from beside me, making me lower Pen’s hand as my face turned slowly towards him.
“I don’t trust you near my girl.” I informed him through clenched teeth as his eyes flickered towards Penelope. “Don’t fūcking look at her.” I hissed, taking a step in front of him.
“I’m not going to hurt her.” He sighed as his eyes moved back to mine. “I would never.”
“Like I said. I don’t trust you near my girl.” I repeated with a glare. “Get someone else to stay with her while I’m with Capo.”
“I have a question.” He spat, completely ignoring my command, and preventing me from turning to face her again.
“What?” I questioned back in irritation. This fūcker was really getting on my last nerve. Every time I turned around, the asšhole was looking for a way in to speak to her. I wasn’t usually so jealous, but I can tell this fūcker wanted her. Too fūcking bad. She’s mine and I don’t share.
“Are you serious about her? I mean, you’ve always said that you wouldn’t settle down and all.” He asked as he fixed me with a glare, forcing me to hold back my desire to slit his throat right fūcking now.
“Not that it is any of your fūcking business.” I seethed for a second before controlling myself and stepping forward to intimidate him. “But I’m so fūcking serious about her that I will make her my future wife. So back. The fūck. Off!” I growled as he nodded in understanding.
“Understood.” He replied with a nod as he continued holding my glare for a minute. He looked like he wanted to say something but decided against it before he turned and walked off.
Good. I would have probably blown his brains out if he had.
I turned to Penelope as I placed my hand on her pale cheek. I don’t understand what the fūck she did to me, especially after I swore never again, but my heart will only beat as long as hers did.
I stroked her cheek gently before leaning forward to press my lips against hers.
“Edgardo,” Paolo grunted from behind me just as I was pulling away from Pen.
I turned to him as he rolled his neck and tugged on his sling. “How’s the wound?” I asked him with a raised brow.
“It opened up again during the attack.” He replied as he massaged the back of his neck where the sling wrapped around before shaking his head and laughing. “I have no fūcking clue where Ms. Blanco got that gun, but man, does she have one hell of a shot.”
“You are the first man I meet to laugh at being shot.” I informed him with a shake of my head.
He tried to shrug but winced from the pain. “I don’t have a death wish. That’s Capo’s girl and everyone knows it. I also know that she didn’t do it to kill me because if she had, I’m sure I’d be dead for sure.” He stated as he walked towards the chair that I had been sitting on when I fell asleep earlier.
“Probably.” I muttered before focusing on Penelope again. “Tornerò, tesoro.” (Italian for “I’ll be back, sweetheart.”) I whispered in Pen’s ear before straightening up again.
I looked at Paolo, who was smirking and I glared at him before he could say something smart. “You sure you don’t have a death wish?” I spat, making him turn serious before gulping loudly and nodding. “Good. Watch her with your fūcking life.” I hissed before walking out of my room.
*Mattias’ POV*
My cōck was still fūcking hard as I listened to my brother, father, and Ventura still talk shīt. This could have definitely waited until after I fūcked Isa.
“Are you even listening?” Lorenzo muttered, forcing me to blink a few times to find them all staring at me.
“Yeah.” I replied with an eye roll as I reached for my whiskey.
“Didn’t the doctor say that you couldn’t drink alcohol with the medications she prescribed you?” Father asked, forcing me to turn his way.
“Maybe.” I shrugged as I brought the drink to my lips, making Lorenzo shake his head before leaning back on his seat.
“Like I was saying,” He muttered, rolling up his sleeves. “We have to move. It is a matter of time before he finds this location.”
“I can take her out of the country for some time.” I offered, making them glare at me.
“This is why you don’t fall in love with the fūcking mission.” Lorenzo hissed as I clenched my teeth in anger.
“I never agreed to mistreat her though.” I muttered, gulping the remainder of my drink.
“Pūssy is that good, eh?” Ventura suddenly questioned as he licked his lips.
“Fūcking amazing.” I replied proudly, pulling on my tight crotch. Taking this conversation back to her pūssy wasn’t helping my hard-on.
“You know that saying,” He smirked as I looked at him in confusion. “Sharing is caring.” He stated, making Father chuckle.
“I’d like to fūck the disrespect out of her.” Father commented as he brought the cigar to his lips.
“I don’t like sharing.” I disclosed, making Lorenzo shake his head in disapproval as we watched Ventura stand before fixing his jacket.
“Mattias, Mattias, Mattias,” Ventura said with a click of his tongue. “You weren’t supposed to fall in love, Kid. This was purely business. You marry her and we take out the Blancos. We just got lucky Morello showed interest in her and now we kill two birds with one stone.” He uttered as he walked behind me, placing his hand on my shoulder.
Everything was quiet for a few seconds as Father and Lorenzo glared at me as they waited for the fūcker to finish his speech or punish me for my outburst.
“But I wasn’t asking if you liked sharing. You are even lucky that we allowed her to live. And if you want her to continue living to make it to your wedding night, then you will keep your mouth shut as your father and I fūck her as we please.” He hissed in my ear as his grip around my shoulder tightened. “Take it as our pre-wedding gift to you.” He chuckled, finally releasing my shoulder.
I gritted my teeth in anger as I stared in front of me. Any word out of my mouth right now could lead to a blood bath. I took a deep breath before looking at Lorenzo. He promised me he had plans. I just had to trust that those plans included killing Ventura before he got his hands on Isa.
*Alberto’s POV*
I wrapped my hands around the edge of my desk while my eyes closed as I tried to reign in my anger. If I didn’t breathe, I would probably kill this asšhole too.
“Get the fūck out and don’t come back until you have a motherfūcking location.” I growled through gritted teeth as I squeezed the edges of the wood under my curled hands.
As soon as I heard the door close, I opened my eyes and grabbed my laptop from my desk before throwing it against the wall. But guess what? That wasn’t enough to satisfy my anger.
I pushed everything off my desk before flipping it over and kicking the chair out of my way. I made my way towards the mini-bar which, to my surprise, had survived my wrath.
I poured myself two fingers of scotch before slamming it back. “Fūck it.” I muttered when I swallowed the contents.
I threw the glass against the marble-tiled floor as it shattered into hundreds of little pieces and grabbed the bottle of Johnnie Walker scotch before taking it back to my chair with me. I grumbled as I picked up my chair and placed it upright before sitting my asš on it. I lifted the bottle to my lips and chugged as much as I could.
Isadora. My angel.
Fūck me. I failed her. I failed us.
“Where are you, baby?” I whispered, throwing my head back and allowing myself to think about her.
“You are the most important person in my life, Isa. And I love you more than words can describe.”
Those were the last words I told her before shīt went to hell. Before I lost my brother. Before I lost my angel.
“Capo,” I heard Edgardo mutter from the door, making my eyes open as I took another gulp of the scotch bottle.
“What do you want?” I spat before leaning my head against the back of my chair.
He took a deep breath before approaching me. “You know how much I respect you, right?” He asked me as my grip tightened around the glass bottle. “You are my capo and all, but I see you as a friend as well.”
“Get it out already.” I growled, throwing the bottle and its remainder against the wall.
“This,” He motioned to me on the chair. “Isn’t going to bring her back.”
He’s lucky I met my quota for kills in a day already.
I glared at him as I waited for him to get to the point. “We need you at your best in case we get a—” He was saying when a knock interrupted us, making me curse under my breath.
Edgardo walked towards the door again and opened it. “Capo,” One of the guys stuttered as he walked into the office. I groaned internally, getting ready to fūck more shīt up when he spoke up, making my heart stop completely.
“We have something.”
