Chapter 7

Fieldtrip

"Let go Emma!"

James shouted as Emma clings to him while we're riding the Anchor's Away. The rest of us keeps on laughing as Emma keeps on shouting whenever our side goes up and goes down after. Charlotte was laughing so hard in front of us while she was seated with Nicole because Noah and James dragged me and Emma to the end of the right side with Felix seated beside me.

"Damn it James and Noah! I'm gonna throw a fit on you both once we're done here!" Emma shouted as Noah and James held both of her wrists to raise it making her let go of the handle.

I was laughing so hard when Felix also held my wrist to raise it up making me shout suddenly. I tried to snatch my wrist away from his hold when the ride went down, making the other side be the one raising right now but he just held my wrist tightly even giving me a look and a smile.

The ride ended shortly and Emma is almost a crying mess when we hop off the ride while I can feel my legs wobbling. "You guys are crazy! That was thrilling!"

Emma encircles her arm to James neck making him lower himself down a bit because he is taller than her. "You damn i***t! You're dead!"

She walks first while walking close to where the Ekstreme Tower is and let go of James after scolding him nonstop before taking a seat in one of the vacant chairs in front of the booths.

Today is our field trip and we're in the last destination of the trip. This is not the first time we went here but the thrill of each ride is still the same. Funny how before coming here, we visited Empire Art Museum, which is owned by my family, before going to Ocean Park and then here. We're lucky because this field trip was moved by September when we're supposed to have this by October, before the sembreak, because there weren't that many people in here. James's auntie, who is the owner of our high school, said that besides us, there's only one high school who is also scheduled to visit Enchanted Kingdom today so we really are lucky.

"Why don't we eat some snacks for a while?" Nicole suggested before we went to the food court passing by the Kindermagic, Anchor's Away, Swan Lake and Laser Mission.

The food court is not crowded, making it easier for us to get a spot closer to the stalls. The weather wasn't that hot, also making it comfortable enough for us to walk around the whole park because this place is really huge while we take pictures of each other using James and Felix's camera.

"What should we buy?" Charlotte asks, roaming her eyes around each stalls while we are seated.

"I think I want to eat pizza right now." Emma exclaimed.

"I want ice cream." I said while looking at the Dairy Queen.

I heard Noah chuckled with what I said before standing up on his seat on my right side as he patted the top of my head. My eyes turned to him as I gave him a smile.

"I'll buy your ice cream later, eat some real snacks for now." he said as I nod and smiled at him again.

I can feel everyone's stare at the both of us before James, who is sitting beside Emma, stood up and called Felix, who is sitting on my left side with Nicole on his other side, left with them to buy our food.

Nicole took Felix's chair after he left with the two and whispers. "And the war begins." she said, making sure that only the two of us hear it.

I gave her a confused look before she shrugs. "You really are clueless."

"Amelia." Someone suddenly called Emma's name as we looked who it was.

"What do you want Hans?" Emma asks her ex who is standing beside her chair while she's just scrolling over her phone.

Charlotte, Nicole and I just look at Emma before looking at each other, obviously avoiding Hans eyes. Hans Ezekiel Reyes is Emma's ex boyfriend that she broke up with after she caught him dating another girl in the mall, which means she's her two timer boyfriend. Her boyfriend that got James and Noah super furious that James almost used his connection in the school to kick him out of our high school.

"Can I steal you later? I just need to talk to you." he asks as Emma scoffed.

"You've got some guts huh? Talk to yourself, cheater." Emma answered, making me shocked because of what she calls him.

I look away from the both because I know the moment Hans caught my eye, he'll push me to convince Emma to come with him because it's what he does before, everytime Emma doesn't want to come with him after class.

"You really have some guts Reyes." I heard James' voice as a box of pizza and drinks was placed on our table.

I raise my look to the boys who just arrived who keep standing while giving Hans a threatening look, except Felix who sat on his chair beside me before giving me a smile and handing me my water then eyed Hans.

"Stay away from this Sanchez." Hans says making me gasp because surely this will cause a commotion if he won't go away.

He turned his attention to me, catching my eyes. "Felicity, please help me. I just want to talk with Emma." he pleaded.

Noah walked over where Hans is standing before he held Hans collar in one hand crumbling it around his fist. "Don't you dare use Feli to get what you want Hans. Not again." he threatens.

I gasp and roam my eyes around the area before calling Noah's name. "Aiden Noah, don't please. Not here." I pleaded but he didn't budge.

I was about to say something again when Felix suddenly stood up from his seat and looked at Hans and Noah. "Dude if you don't f*****g mind? Can you please just go the hell away? These people clearly don't want you here. And can't you see that we're about to eat?" he confronts.

Emma and Charlotte looked at him amused before Hans scoffed. "You've got an asshole in here." he exclaimed, making Felix smirks.

"You mean yourself?" he said, raising a brow that made Charlotte and Nicole laugh with his witty answer.

"Let go of him Noah, he'll go away." Emma said while looking at Felix still amused.

Noah let's Hans collar go before letting out a deep breath. "Get lost Reyes," he said before Hans took a look at each of us and left.

"What a witty of you Felix." Emma exclaimed as Noah sat on his chair.

James arranged the pizza boxes opening one of them before Charlotte gave her an alcohol. "That jerk just had to approach you before we eat." he said.

"He's gone now James, don't ruin your day because of him." Emma said.

"By the way, what time are we supposed to go back in our bus again?" Nicole asks, changing the topic.

"7:30pm is the call time, since we need to leave before or by 8." I answered.

Its already 3:30pm and we only have 4 hours left. So far we already rode 4 rides and played almost in all booths here. We continued eating for the next few minutes, staying at the food court for about half an hour, before walking around and deciding which ride we should go. 

"James Sanchez?!" a girl wearing a red round neck stripe short sleeve top tucked in a maong shorts with a black belt called James name.

We all stopped walking when the girl with her friends approached us, making us, girls and Felix, only look at them. James talks to them draping his arm on Noah's shoulder while facing the girls.

"There goes the two of them again." Charlotte exclaimed as I chuckled.

"They really got that flirty blood running in their veins." Emma states before she looks at Felix, who is just looking at the ride placed in front of us, giving him a look.

"Aren't you joining those two Felix?" she asks as Felix looks at her.

"What do you mean?" he asks.

"Flirting with girls. That's your thing too right?" Emma states before I heard Felix chuckled.

He glances at Emma before looking at me. "I already got a girl here." he answered, making me look away immediately.

Felix has been a big distraction over the whole month for me that even Christian keeps asking when he can meet him again. They became that close already. Him calling me at night became his other daily habit too. Coming to the museum even though his mother's paintings were already posted is his habit already too. Despite there are times that I like his presence around me, I still can't erase the fact that he is being a big distraction already.

"What a smooth move." Nicole whispered, giving me a knowing smile before I glared at her.

Nicole has been teasing me non-stop about Felix. She keeps on telling me to try to notice everything about me even once which I did but I still don't get the hints she's putting in the table.

"Since Felix is here, you girls will be fine without me and Noah right?" James asks, draping his arm over Emma's shoulder.

I eyed Noah, who is standing smiling shyly to the girls surrounding them with one of those girls is surely being teased to him, before looking at James again.

"So you two will leave with those girls to flirt?" Charlotte asks as James just gave her a knowing smile.

They look at me as if I should be the one to make the decision whether to let them go or not. "You better make sure you'll be around by 6." I said.

James immediately cheered before telling Noah that he got our permission already.

"What are you saying?! We can't leave them to Felix!" Noah complained before James whispered something to himself.

"Just go Noah. We know you're aching to flirt too anyway." Emma pushes before James officially drags Noah away despite his complaints.

On the other hand, we were left walking around the park before Hans appeared in front of us once again and pulled Emma with him despite our calls. Charlotte was about to call James about Emma when she sent me a message that she'll talk to Hans for the last time so we let her.

Charlotte was later on dragged by the guy we caught her talking with in the campus before while we were waiting in line for Disk-O-Magic leaving me with Nicole and Felix alone.

"Why are our friends kept getting dragged away from us?" I complained to Nicole before she laughed while we're walking out of the barricade after the ride.

"And you're about to be one too." she said before looking at Felix. "Make sure you two will be back by 6 or else we're all dead to those two flirt boys."

My eyes widened when I realized what she said before Felix held my wrist and pulled me away from Nicole. I was complaining non-stop as he kept dragging me until he let my wrist go when we arrived in the Brooklyn Place.

"Are you crazy?! Nicole is left alone there!" I complained to Felix as he shook his head.

"She said she'll be fine and she's the one who recommended me to go drag you too." he explains leaving my mouth left hanging.

What are you thinking Nicole?

I was about to walk back to where we left Nicole when Felix held my wrist to pull me closer to him before encircling his other hand over my waist. I looked at him with wide eyes as he stared at my eyes.

"You've been trying to run away from me everytime I attempt to do my move, I can't let you go this time Amora." he said, making me gulp.

I can smell his perfume with how close we are to each other. "L-let go." I attempt to budge but he just tightly holds me to keep me in place.

"Never."

He stared at my face as if he was examining and memorizing it. "Your beauty is really beyond my expectation. Your personality makes you even more attractive to many which I hate very much." he states.

I felt like the feeling of embarrassment with the kind of position we are currently in while standing in the middle of this walkway disappears because of his words. I'm not sure whether his words are sincere or is just one of those lines he uses when he flirts just like what Emma always says. My heart beat is also loud enough to be heard by him in the middle of this loud theme park that consists of the mixture screams, loud laughing, talking and the announcements made in the ride close to where we are standing.

"Felicity? Felix?" someone called catching our attention before I immediately push Felix slightly giving enough space between us. I breath in and out faster than I thought I would.

"Hey!" Felix greeted our schoolmate before he held my wrist again, pulling me with him.

We line up to the short line in the Swan Lake with him still holding my wrist like he is afraid that I'll run away from him once he lets go. Which is not even slightly false, I wanna run away from him right now as far as I can.

He let go of my wrist only to make me sit on the one side of the swan-like boat before he took the seat on the other side and took my hand again. "Pedal." he only said.

I did what he said unconsciously and just stayed silent as we pedaled away. I didn't even realize that I'm following his orders until I looked at my foot pedaling.

"Why are you even wasting your time with me Felix? You should have just gone with James and Noah, flirting." I said while looking in front.

"Jealous?" he asks as I look at him in disbelief.

"I may have flirted during my first few weeks in the campus but it's different now." he answers. "There's just something about you that makes me want to keep you beside me all the time."

What he said made me unexpectedly uncomfortable even to the next few rides we got into. A simple bump of our elbows when he finally lets my wrist go makes me twitch and makes me nervous which I don't understand why. Everytime he asks me things whether I want to eat something or what rides I wanna try or if I'm thirsty and many more makes me feel like I'm not the Felicity I know. I keep on unconsciously watching his simple gestures, laughs, smiles, and even his screaming face that makes me laugh so hard because he seems like that kind of guy who doesn't budge just because of these rides.

"You had fun staring at me?" he asks while we are lining up in the Wheel of Fate.

I don't even know what time it is already but I know it's already dark and the light of Wheel of Fate is now open.

"I'm not!" I defend as he just chuckled before looking in front.

A few minutes later, we entered the gondola seating on each side to keep the balance. The open gondola lets us feel the warm breeze as the ferris wheel lifts slowly. The view of Laguna is also seen around in this ferris wheel with the lights around the theme park never fails to amaze me no matter how many times I've seen this view already.

I caught Felix smiling as he looked at the view of Laguna in front of us. His warm smile is enough to make my heart go crazy as if it will jump out of my chest already.

"It's beautiful isn't it? Is it your first time here? Since you live in Davao..." I asks before he looks at me.

"It is... very beautiful." he answers while looking at me deeply, making me shy and look away.

"But no... this isn't the first time I've been here." he answers. "This wasn't the first time I rode this ferris wheel with a girl also," he continued.

I look at him with forehead creased before he laugh probably because of my reaction.

"I love it when you can't realize that your face screams jealousy." he said with an amused smile plastered on his lips.

I look away once again as our gondola is close to the top already. "You're just assuming." I said.

"Am I? Is everything really still just nothing?" he asks me before I look at him again confused.

He looks at me as if he is also confused with his own question.

"Don't mind what I just said." he said before giving me a smile and looking at the view again.

There is something about Felix that makes me put my attention to him also. Even if he didn't pester me, I admit, he really caught my attention the moment I made eye contact with him when he first introduced himself to us. Like he is drowning me deeper inside him unconsciously and won't even let me go no matter how much I want to swim up and stop being drowned.

I cleared my throat before I looked at the lights inside the theme park. "So..." he glances at me. "Who is the girl you've rode this with?"

He looks at me, raising a brow, with an amuse smile plastered on his lips. "I thought you're not jealous?"

I glare at him the moment he asks me that before laughing.

"Don't worry, just two of my female cousins with our male cousin." he answers before I

nod as he smiles wide.

I took a deep breath as he kept his eyes on me, never keeping it away. Our gondola stops at the top making the warm breeze hug my body more as I smile.

"I don't think I can ride this again with another girl..." he said.

"Felicity Amora Martinez just made this Wheel of Fate even more special." he continues before I look at him.

There I know that there is something inside me that I want to keep denying but I can't anymore. The feeling that I never know I will suddenly feel. Just like this Wheel of Fate, a random occurrence in my life I never expected will come when I first met him.

"Stop being so damn overprotective James! You're being too much now!" I heard Emma shouting as me and Felix passed by the souvenir shop.

"Wow Amelia! I'm sorry that we are just worried that you'll end up being drawn to that jerk once again!" James shouted back, making the group of friends who passed by them giving them looks.

Nicole's attention turned to our direction as he immediately called my name before they immediately ran towards me and Felix. Noah eyed Felix with a serious face as if he did something that will cause a commotion.

"Where have you been?! We've been looking for you!" Emma exclaimed as she looked at Felix.

"We just went for a ride together. Why were you shouting to each other?" I ask trying to divert the attention from me and Felix while Noah just keeps eyeing the two of us.

Emma handed me a paper bag with my clothes in it while James gave a paper bag to Felix as well. They must have gone to the bus already seeing that Charlotte's clothes are also inside this paper bag.

"Noah and I just caught her with Hans while he walks her to our bus." James said, glaring at Emma while she returns him one.

"And someone has been over reacting even though I already said that we just talked and officially cleared and ended things up between the two of us!" Emma slowly raising her voice explains as well.

I was about to scold them when Noah suddenly talk. "Why are you with him?" he asks me as I look at him because I already know he meant Felix.

"We just went for a ride Noah... not anything besides that." I said.

"Doesn't feel like it." Noah said, looking at Felix with a serious face.

"If you think that I'll put her in trouble, don't worry. I care about her as much as you do. Just like feeling the same way you do for her is the same." Felix stated before Noah pulled him by his collar with jaw clench and rapid breath.

I was shocked with the sudden commotion making me only stare at the two of them while giving each other a death glare. James is trying to unclench Noah's tight grip on Felix's collar but the grip is too tight.

"Why Noah? Scared that she might find out?" Felix provoked as I began to feel nervous and confused. Nervous because they might suddenly fight here and confused because I don't understand what Felix meant.

"NOAH! FELIX!" I heard Charlotte's voice as we all looked behind us, except Noah and Felix who is still giving each other a death glare, to see Charlotte walking closer to us with the same guy who dragged her earlier behind her.

The guy immediately tried to get in between Felix and Noah, telling them to distance from each other. "Don't you have respect for your senior?!" the guy who’s with Charlotte shouted before Noah rudely let Felix collar making Felix smirks.

Our 'senior' told Felix to get change after eyeing the paper bag he was holding as he followed but he patted my head for a while before he went inside the restroom located close to where we were standing.

Nicole also dragged me inside the restroom to get change and when we came out our senior already left.

"Who was that Charlotte?" James asks.

"Didn't you hear what he said? He's our senior." Charlotte calmly answers.

"I mean, why is he with you? At this time?" James questions again before Charlotte pat the top of his head.

"Don't think about it." she answers before encircling her hand to Noah's arm, dragging her with him.

I roam my eyes and glance at the male restroom before Emma talks. "Felix already left with that senior."

I nod before we walk back to our bus already. We did a stop over to a close gasoline station with service areas. I went to buy a simple dinner with Nicole because the other's didn't want to go out already. Noah insisted to come but Charlotte made him shut up.

"Felix." Nicole said pointing in front of us while we're about to enter a burger shop only to see Felix with two plastic bags on his hand.

He stopped in front of us before getting my hand calmly and placing one plastic bag that contained bottled water and food from a fast-food restaurant. He puts my hand down to my side and looks at me.

"Don't forget to eat. Sleep in the bus and take a rest. Forget that argument earlier." he said before patting the top of my head as he greeted Nicole and passed by us.

He stopped and looked back at us before smiling at me.

"Don't forget what I said earlier. Thanks for making this day special Felicity Amora."
