The water was cold on impact. Freezing. She hated it the second she felt the cold. The river was fast and the currents were strong, and she was a great swimmer but the currents were dragging her down. The effort was too much to bear. The current was dragging her too fast, she could barely keep her head up or anytime she went below the surface, the was trying to keep the air in order to be able to sustain the effort of swimming.
