Chapter 5 Yaliana woke up to a white ceiling and starchy sheets. She was lying on a hard bed, and the sound of a monitor beeping invaded her ears. She blinked, and the hospital room came into focus around her. She slowly sat up, and the beeping of the monitor quickened with her movement. She put her feet on the cold floor and rose. The hospital IV stand had bags of what Yaliana could only assume was antibiotics for her leg, now heavily bandaged. How long had she been out? Where was Ulissa?
