Chapter 2 Ulissa woke up before Yaliana to find that, sometime in the night, they had snuggled together for body heat. Ulissa froze, her nose nearly touching Yaliana’s, and slowly tried to sidle away. It would do no good to be caught this close to her subject of desire. Ulissa had taken a fancy to Yaliana about five years ago, around the time when Ulissa was sixteen, and Yaliana was in training to be a knight. Knights began training around the age of fifteen to sixteen, but it had been obvious that Yaliana had made up her mind to become a knight long before that.
