When Catherine's father passed away accidentally, she and Leonard was still a couple. After her father's death, her family's business had also come to an end. Just when Catherine was plagued by the blows, Leonard took the chance to divorce her.
Catherine had loved Leonard once, which was why she had begged her father to push him into marrying her. After marrying her, though, he had a lot of scandals and even openly took his childhood sweetheart home to be his mistress. At that time, that woman had conspired to kill the life that had been growing in Catherine's womb. The fetus had been three months old, and the miscarriage had caused Catherine's heart to twist into a tight knot.

As Leonard watched Catherine storm out of his office, he felt a stab of pain in his heart. He didn't know how he could manage it to stay away from her. He took a deep breath and called after her, "Catherine, why don't we remarry?"
Catherine froze – remarry? Her heart skipped a beat. The proposal was enticing, but she refused to entertain it. So far, he made every single one of the decisions in their relationship, and she couldn't do anything about it. But she was not a puppet!
Catherine turned around, trotted back into the board room, and threw a glass of cold water in his face. "Mr. Campbell, after all of the things that you've put me through, how dare you suggest such a thing?!?!"
Catherine still loved Leonard, but he had abandoned her with a cold indifference, which was impossible to forgive for her. Her heart was broken at that time, and she had already decided to stay far, far away from him for good. And if he thought she was still the obedient wife as she was in the past time, he was sorely mistaken!
"You libertine!" she hissed. "I don't care about your thoughts. You may do as you wish. But don't you even think about me to remarry you! f**k off!!"
Catherine ignored the look of distress on Leonard's face and turned around with her head held high and walked away.
Jim followed her with his eyes as she entered the elevator, and once the doors were closed, Leonard called out to him from the Board Room. "Go after her," he shouted, "and report her whereabouts back to me."
Jim sighed and said, "Yes, sir." He thought that Leonard was acting irrationally. When Catherine was infatuated with him and followed him around, he never cared about her. Now, though, everything was running in reverse, and the shoe was on the other foot. Leonard became the one who was in hot pursuit, and Catherine didn't want anything to do with him.

One hour later
Jim called Leonard with an update about Catherine's whereabouts, "Mr. Campbell, Mrs. Campbell is back at the hospital. She is with that patient that had beaten up."
Leonard ground his teeth and said, "He is not a patient. He is a pervert!"
"Be that as it may," Jim said, "I have found her as you requested. Can I leave now?"
"No," Leonard replied. "Not yet. Stay and keep an eye on her! I'll be right there!" And then he hung up.
Jim sighed and went to sit in the waiting room. Leonard arrived about twenty minutes later, and Jim could tell that his boss was furious.

The middle-aged man smiled as Catherine sat beside him. Catherine apologized for what had happened to him, and he could tell that she was genuinely sorry – and at this moment, he thought she looked more beautiful than ever.
The middle-aged man clutched at her sleeve and looked her in the eyes, "You have a beautiful smile, doctor. You should be my woman. You know that I am rich. I could give you diamonds and luxury cars, or anything else you might want. I could even give you a $200,000 a month to buy whatever you desire. You just need to drive off my wife. If you do that, I will marry you, and you can share my wealth! What do you say?"
Catherine smiled and said, "It sounds great."
Catherine didn't know Leonard was standing outside the door, and when he heard what she'd said, he froze, and the veins on his forehead popped out.
But before he pushed open the door and got into the room, he saw Catherine shake off that man's hand, and she said coldly, "What I mean is, it sounds great, in theory, but I don't think it would work. You have too many mistresses. I would have to fight them for your property. Sorry, I have no interest in that."
Catherine's words gave Leonard cause to pause, and a gentle smile appeared on his face. Jim was also relieved when he heard that. He had been apprehensive about what might happen when Leonard saw Catherine with the middle-aged man.
Suddenly, the middle-aged man grabbed Catherine's wrist and threaten, "If you don't obey me, I will complain to the hospital about you!"
And that was when Catherine ran out of patience, she snapped, "Do as you like! I don't care!" She thought this man was gross and she wanted nothing more to do with him.
Catherine stood up and stormed out of the room, and when she saw Leonard, her fury intensified. "Why are you here? Who told you I am here!"
"I came here to see a doctor," Leonard replied.
Catherine looked at him skeptically and rolled her eyes, "Sure, you do. I can tell you have a mental problem when I saw you. Just turn left at the end of the hallway. The neurology department is in the second room on the tenth floor. Goodbye."
Catherine turned and walked in the opposite direction.
Jim was dumbfounded. Dear Jesus – he thought – Mrs. Campbell is so merciless!
As Leonard watched her leave, an idea occurred to him. He whispered to Jim's ear and whispered his plan. Jim's eyebrows lifted. "You are too crafty," he replied, and they both chuckled.

As Catherine turned the corner, she began to fret. Thanks to Leonard, she had received several complaints this month, and the director of the hospital had warned her that she would be fired if she received another complaint.
Because it had been hard to get the associate chief physician position at a such young age, Catherine didn't relish the thought of her bright future being ruined by Leonard.
Not knowing what else to do, she visited the director and asked for the rest of the day off - if there were any consequences for what had happened today, she decided to face them tomorrow.
