Chapter 13: Blue coral serpent

Walking back from her school to her home. Kaede was so excited about the news her friend Yuki told her. With that excitement. Kaede immediately lay on her bed and open her hardware.

She immediately logs in to Fantasy world online.

Arriving she appeared in the last spot where she logs out. And that’s in the underground cave. There Yuki is already waiting for her.

“What happened to you? You’re not logging in for three days already.”

“Sorry, but I got a lower grade on our last exam in math. Our teacher has her eyes on me. I got to study a  lot and re-take the exam.”

“Well, that can’t be helped.”

Looking closely at Yuki. Kaede noticed something different. Yuki is currently wearing a different armor from before. It’s not a unique series type of armor but it looks good on Yuki.

“Oh… Did you notice? This is my new armor. It's an armor I buy in the armor shop. It's not as great as yours but this will do for now.”

“I remember, you did fight the underground dungeon. What happened? Did you defeat it?”

“Well, that’s one of the main reasons I came back here. Also, I raise my level and get armor to defeat it. That monster is crazy powerful. I have high agility but my damage output at that time is not very good. I got trouble myself trouble fighting it.”

Instead of a sword, Yuki has daggers on her hand right now. And her armor was in dark blue color.

“Then that means we’re going deep to this underground. I don’t have any agility to move deep on water.”

Kaede in panic and shook her head. Yuki just walked toward Kaede and put her hand on her shoulder.

“Don’t worry about it… While battling it I discover another route leading to that same boss room. If we take this route far in the north. It will lead in the same room underground the lake.”

With that said. Yuki and Kaede then decided to go. They are now prepared specially, Yuki.

“You have a faster walking speed right now?”

Yuki muttered.

“I did by new shoes in the armory shop. I increase my AGI for a bit. I can run a bit faster in my real-life self.”

“You’re not a very good runner in real life nothing is had to change.”

Kaede pouted her mouth with an angry expression and smack Yuki with her hand. Yuki knows that Kaede is being angry and stopped teasing her.

They reach the cave and deep inside they walked downward. They encounter monsters on their way and it was defeated immediately by their high damage.

Seeing Kaede fight for the first time Yuki was in a state of awe.

“You can really one hit a huge monster with your sword. Also, that sword is really creepy. It’s like turning like a huge mouth that eats these monsters.”

“It’s not creepy, It’s cool! It’s turning like dragon fang and eat monsters. My sword needs to eat lots of these monsters and convert them as magical counters. I don’t have much MP after all.”

While talking a huge mudfish monster appeared suddenly behind Kaede it was three of them. Kaede lowered her guard down and didn’t notice.

Yuki hurried and save Kaede. Using her daggers she slashed through it with a cross-cut.

“Cross blade!”

The monster was taken down immediately with her skill.

“Thank you, Yuki, that was close… You can also one-hit monster in this level.”

“I just did that using my skill, but without my skill killing, it will take about ten slashes… I think. Let's hurry up…  I wanted my revenge already.”

Yuki said and rapidly run below the deep cave. Kaede cracks a smile and then giggles for a bit. Looking at Yuki, Kaede feels like nothing changes since when they are still little. Yuki always pushing Kaede and run in front of her. Kaede follows.

For some reason, Yuki has a brilliance that Kaede can’t resist. Kaede really loves Yuki since then.

Few minutes have passed and defeat the monsters in their way. The two girls manage to reach the giant door in one piece. Preparing for the massive boss fight. Kede and Yuki replenished their HP and MP with positions. Checking their equipment.

“Just in case let's use teleport crystal to bail out. When I player was killed in this game the player will lose 2000 gold. With the little money that I have I can’t afford to lose anything.”

Kaede nodded at Yuki’s words.

With everything prepared, Yuki and Kaede walked to the big door and put their hands on the front. Kaede pushed the right side. Yuki pushed the left side.

The door inch by inch move and opened.

The two girls gulped and look around. In front of them is a huge giant lake. In the ceiling were crystals that serve up as a light in the whole area.

Yuki already entered the dungeon before and knows what to expect. She completely forgets that Kaede didn’t know anything about what’s about to appear in front of her. Their reaction is quite opposite to each other.

Kaede has an anxious look, while Yuki has an excited smile.

“Here it comes!”

Yuki shouted.

Bubbles appeared in the middle of the lake and then a huge loom of shadows. Red eyes were seen.

It makes Kaede shiver and grips her sword in front of her.

With a huge s***h of water. The long sea creature appeared in front of them. Torrent of water stream in the whole area. Looking around, Kaede notices that she only a small number of foothold on the whole battlefield.  

Its name appeared on its head and four HP bars appeared. The sea creature and the boss of the underground lake dungeon were called the Blue coral serpent. Just like how the name referred to it. The serpent has aqua blue skin and Its scales were like corals.

“Then for payback!”

Just for a single second, Yuki disappeared beside Kaede. That surprised Kaede seeing how fast Yuki was. Kaede has experience battling a  ninja with high agility before in the battle event. But Compare to the ninja player. Yuki’s speed is far more surprising than she imagined.

With Yuki’s speed, she is basically running on water.

“What should I do now? I can’t just use a paralyzing roar with Yuki on the water. She will be affected by the effect. I can’t use my poison breath because we’re currently in the closed area.”

“Kaede you can just strike the serpent with your sword every time it gets closer. I will lure the serpent with my speed then you can use your massive damage.”

With their smart tactics. Yuki followed the plan. Using her dagger she strikes the serpent.

Just like she expected her damage didn’t deal that much damage with the sturdy coral scales. But the serpent now has its eyes fixed on Yuki. The serpent followed Yuki and started to get confused with the speed.

Yuki’s “Extreme speed skill” Has a time duration of 60 seconds and after that, she can’t use it until 30 seconds cool down.

Using her time she strikes the serpent with her dagger while luring it toward Kaede’s direction. The serpent charges it and in that position, Kaede is prepared with her sword.

“Sword s***h!”

The moon piercer sword deflected the serpent's upcoming head with one powerful swing. It got knockback and released a cry that echoes in the whole dungeon.

Yuki looks and sees how much damage Kaede manages to deal with the serpent.

“That was 2,000+ damage in one attack. You’re such a  monster Kaede. A huge chunk of HP was removed suddenly. I think with ten strikes this monster will fall on its knees.”

After receiving such a powerful attack from Kede the serpent became more aggressive and thrashed.

“It goes berserk!”

From a far distance, the sea serpent swings its tailed and created a huge wave of water toward Kaede’s location. Kaede who can’t move very fast can dodge a wide-area attack.

Yuki with her agility leap and carry Kaede with all of her might. After the rescue, Yuki put Kaede in another piece of land on the battlefield. She tehn put Kaede down.

“If the monster did the same attack in this direction. We can leap toward the previous land. I can use extreme speed again. I better lure this monster away from you first and lure it back. The artificial intelligence monster is not that smart. I guess…”

Before Yuki was able to finish her words. The serpent destroyed the piece of land where Kaede was standing earlier. It surprised Yuki.

“It has the intelligence to destroy and analyze its opponents.”

“If I lost all the land where I can stand. I will be drowned and sink underwater.”

Kaede muttered and turn her glance on Yuki. Yuki then makes a sinister-looking smile that terrified Kaede for a bit.

“Looks like this game is totally what they said. This game is truly the top VRMMORPG in the world right now. This difficulty excites me, as a gamer this is the challenge I was waiting for…”

Seeking never-ending challenge and the sweetness of victory while in a pinch of death. That’s the feeling Yuki was carving for.

 After playing countless games before. She started to get bored and saw the Role-playing genre as boring. Until she heard about the game Fantasy world online.

The body of the blue coral serpent body glimmer in lime color. Its HP started to increase.

“It’s has healing?!”

“Intelligent monster and healing abilities. We have a limit. I know I can’t defeat I in my current state. No, I can practically defeat it, but it will take more than five hours to do that considering the support items in my inventory. But who wanted a five-hour fight anyway…”

Kaede hearing Yuki deduction averted her head away a bit. Back then when she is in battle with the black poison dragon. She takes more than an hour to defeat it by continuously stabbing me with her sword.

Well, she can’t say it in front of Yuki. Yuki prepared an agile strategy and crush her opponent as fast as possible.

“I have a great idea Kaede…”

Yuki then whispered toward Kaede’s ears telling the plan. Kaede became nervous upon hearing it. Looking at the monster she started to tremble.

“Don’t worry… I will always be on your back Kaede.”

With those words. Yuki's previous self was flashing forward Kaede. There was a time Yuki said the same thing to Kaede when they were still a child.

Because of that she pours her trust on Yuki and grinned briefly.

Kaede takes off her equipment making her lighter. Yuki the carry her on her back.

The serpent charge and tackle the land. Resulting in it sinking. Before the head of the serpent was able to land. Yuki already leaps and runs toward the wall and water.

With her speed, she hen goes behind the monster's back. More accurately in the top of the monster's head. The monster was confused at first because it didn’t see its enemies. It turned its gaze around.

Kaede re-equipped and then with her sword she stabs the serpent's head.

The coral that serves as its scale and shield at the same time was cracking. With another strike from Kaede’s sword. A park of the serpents scale was removed. Revealing its flesh.

“Sword s***h!”

“Cross blade!”

Hitting the same target at the same time. Kaede and Yuki inflicted critical damage to the monster.

“It was super effective!”

Another loud terrifying scream of the serpent was heard. As expected the serpent started to go berserk and thrash in the whole area. Yuki grip Kaede’s armor and her other hand to hold a scale on the serpent's head. Because of that Kaede have her body secure at the top of its head.

“Kaede now!”

Kaede raises her sword and strikes the serpent with another sword s***h. The sword deals critical damage and another critical damage added to the monster by chance. The damage was multiplied by ten folds.

“Sword s***h!”

The serpent’s head was smashed down to the deep blue lake. The impact made the lake overflow and loss a massive amount of water.

The monster disappeared in the light of the other monsters but this monster was a boss monster. A treasure chest appeared after defeating it.

Kaede and Yuki gained experience and made them level up. Opening the chest Kaede was disappointed seeing nothing like what she gets on her first try.

There was no unique series like Kaede’s armor. But it was a ton of materials and gold. They slip the gold evenly and materials were taken by Yuki. Kaede doesn’t have use for it after all.

They happily use teleport to teleport back in the starting town.

“What are you planning in those materials?”

“I guess, I’ll be crafting new equipment. I feel like these items will have great use in the future.”

“Well, I’ll be logging on tomorrow night again. I will come to see you at 8:00 PM here.”

“Now that it reminds me… We have a test the next day. My mother will be in a furious mode if I didn’t study. I’ve been playing this game for two weeks right now. Kaede is reviewing a lot these past days right. Can you go to my home and help me study.”

“Eh? I would love to do it but we both know that I’m not that great at studies either…Hahahaha.”

“It’s nothing to laugh about but we are truly best friends.”

“That’s right we’re best friends.”

They then both leap to each other and hug. They didn’t even think that many other people are weirdly looking at them.

They started muttering in the new girl that seems to be the demon lord Kaede’s friend. That right, everyone has started to label Kaede as a demon lord after demonstrating her power to everyone in the battle event.

“The demon lord got her minion… She must be a strong one.”

“We better do our best for the next event coming next week.”

“That’s right I will have my revenge on her.”

The ninja player said as he cried and clenched his fist.

Despite those conversations. Kaede and Yuki are like in their own world and didn’t notice everyone.
